I really miss Elmer's at Delta Park and I'm really glad there's one still here.
And it's exactly how I remember it. It's hard to explain but there's something that is just so Pacific Northwest about the place. It literally makes you believe you went back in time where everything is just great.
The conversation across the table from me was a religious one and this was on a Friday by the way.
So many good people on the inside and let me tell you the service was absolutely wonderful exactly how I remember it.
They only complaint that I could possibly make is that the booth that I sat and had a little bit of "Large Marge" Trucker Tookus 😄.
As I walked in there was a basketball player in the parking lot who was scoping out an open car, so be weary of that. You know sometimes the timing of me just kind of walking someplace and seeing things is really kind of surreal or serendipitous.
I did alert the stuff inside and I think they took care of it, but there's really not much they can do about the outside.
The food absolutely was made exactly how I wanted it I like my hash browns crispy and they made it exactly that way..
The eggs benedict was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the avocado and tomato Benedict with a side of gravy that also complemented the breakfast nicely.
They also have a wide selection of hot sauces and condiments and everything was perfectly clean on the ketchup as well. ( pet peeve of mine admittedly )
What sets Elmer's apart is the atmosphere, and it's lovely on the inside. There was also a birthday party going on so yeah it was a great time 😊.
Oh and the busboys are on top of their game in the tables are absolutely clean and nothing was sticky or dirty at all.
The utensils could have been at a higher caliber, but these are small quibbles.
Overall , highly recommended for anyone seeking a warm inviting family breakfast with German excellence...
Read moreI had asked my case manager to meet me there at the Stark st 205 restaurant because it was where my aunt and I use to meet before she came down with dementia and now I'm unable to have that time with her. My case manager is someone close to my heart she has been with me since 2021 when I woke up one morning paralyzed from the waist down and had to have a Neuro Spinal surgery to be able to walk again ad since have had another and one more im lokg at before I know if I'll ever be able to walk normally again. My case manager was there with me doing my reassessment because of all this and it's not been good I can't I'm having a very hard time. My case manager left before I did and what I didn't know is that she paid my tab for my coffee that's all I had was coffee so when I went back up to the front I didn't know that she had paid yet so I told him I had a coffee there was no ticket for it I said well I know I had a copy so they rang it up in the register about that time the manager assistant manager whoever he has came over she tried to explain to him he pushed her side he counted up my $4.25 even though I was telling him that it may have already been paid for there was no ticket for. what's sad is that that 425 was my laundry money I don't have a lot of money right now I'm handicapped because of all this and I'm carrying a backpack yes because I can't walk very well so I have to carry certain things with me that gentleman looked at me with the backpack and assumed I was homeless he didn't want me in his store and he made sure that he pushed me out that door quickly a woman beside me offered to pay for the coffee he complete ignored her if this is what Elmer's does is profile somebody I will never be back thank you.

Read moreI had the Cinnamon Roll Panckes and the Hashbrowns w the Works. Those pancakes are addictive! The cinnamon swirl is perfectly caramelized and the icing was put on w a deft touch that didn't overwhelm with sweetness. And those hashbrowns... they were the perfect combination of crispy edges and tender potato. I've got 2 full-size pancakes to take back, but got ALL my bang for the buck and then some w this meal.
Revisit: I'm back in Portland and had to come back to what is (by far), my favorite spot. This time, I brought family. Once again, Elmer's hit all the right notes. I love the friendliness of the staff. And their food was top-tier. I repeated my last meal, my brother got the steak and eggs, and my nephew got cheeseburger sliders. The steak was ordered med rare and came to the table med rare. The sliders came with bottomless fries. As a side note: we were impressed by the children's menu. It was actually a mini magazine with pics of all the dishes, so even a non reader could order. And it was chock full of games to keep them occupied. I just had to come on here and once again, say great...
