Looking to get in touch with the immediate supervisor to Steve the bartender at Flipside. I asked him for his last name he would not give me it. I asked him for his supervisor and he said he didn’t have one. I have a complaint I would like to issue regarding Steve and his lack of professionalism. He was profiling my girlfriend and I and ended pouring out a drink that I paid for, and before that threatened to pour out both because he assumed that the second drink was for her and assumed she was under 21. I asked for a full refund and he said he couldn’t do that because I lied to him, which he had no evidence of. Being that she didn’t have her ID, I offered to consume both drinks indoors where he could see that they were definitely both for me. He agreed and as soon as I got inside he poured out my second drink and continued to call me a lier. I understand Steve values his job and is not willing to risk his career, but he could have handled the whole situation differently. After calling me a lier repeatably, he insisted that he does not have a direct supervisor, which is the worst possible way that a bar/restaurant can operate. Who does a customer go to when they have been treated rudely and unfairly? I initially gave Steve a $4 tip on a $14 order, knowing fully that tips make a world of difference in his particular field. Once he had my money his attitude changed completely and he went on his way attempting to ruin our evening at a place we had randomly came across on our bike ride through town. We could have marked Flipside Bar as a frequent destination for our weekend jaunts, but now it’s an unpleasant reminder that my girlfriend who is 23 looks, “very very very young” and that a grown man can’t have a couple of spiked lemonades before he journeys back to his stomping grounds. 3 out of 5 stars for Flipside and 1 out of 5 stars for Steve, a man without a last name, a supervisor, and...
Read moreFood carts are good - just a word of warning about the restrooms. They have removed male/female signs so you don’t know which one you’re walking into. One has a urinal and one doesn’t, but there’s no way to know which is which until you walk in (FYI, the left has a urinal and the right doesn’t). My sister went in the one on the left, and since there is a lock on the inside of the door, she thought she had locked it, but apparently the lock doesn’t work and she came out of the stall to find a guy peeing in the urinal. I’m sure this is an attempt to be inclusive of certain people, but as a result it makes other people uncomfortable, such as people from other cultural backgrounds or just any of us females who would rather not accidentally see some...
Read moreWent there tonight for the first time, and even though there were only four carts, we liked the place a lot. We ate at the sushi cart, Thai cart, and the gyro sandwich cart, and sampled some beers.
We got there about 6, and it wasn't too crowded, we got pretty quick service at the bar, and then went to get our food. By the time we were done eating, it did gotten considerably more crowded, and the bar was packed with only one bartender.
I waited in line to get another beer, but ended up just cashing out my tab because I didn't want to have to wait again.
Checked out the upstairs, which was a lot more comfortable, on an outside deck with a second bar, but we didn't stay. I'll have to come back another time, when they have more help...
