I went to Heavenly Doughnuts on Saturday (February6th,2021) around 3:10 PM with my teenage son to grab a quick dozen on our way home from wrapping up errands. When we approached the doors there was a sign inside that read " Only 3 customers allowed including children) there were currently 4 customers inside, (2 ladies waiting by the display case to be helped and a man with a child) so y son and I waited for about 5 minutes for the man to finish is transactions, after him and the child left my son and I stepped inside. The women behind the counter looked up at my son and I and immediately said " only 3 people at a time" my response was " you just had 4 people in here" she again stated that it was only 3 customers allowed inside at a time, when I responded again that she had just had 4 customers inside. She than said that she would not services me and that she was calling the police. I told her to go ahead and call the police because I had nothing wrong but I need to understand what the difference was between those 4 people and these 4 people , was it because two of these Four people were black? she never acknowledged ,y son or I again. She proceed to help the ladies that had been waiting, I asked them if at anytime she had asked either one of them to step out and they replied " No". on their way out they apologized to me for what I was experiencing. After the two women left and only my son i were left , the worker still would not assist us, as other customers came and went she never looked our direction or attempted to help us. After about 15 minutes I called non- emergency to follow up on the call to see when an officer would be on site. The dispatcher acknowledged that they had been called and that an officer was not currently available but he asked my side of the story. After I explained what had happened he stated that I was very calm considering what was happening , I thanked him and said that this was the same tone and demeanor that I had with her. I told me that I could leave since it could be up to an hour at least before an officer would be on site but that the officer would follow up with me. I asked if he needed any other information before I left he asked if i could the workers name, I put him on speaker phone and asked she refused to give it , he than asked would she acknowledged that she was the one that called, I asked he she shook her head yes. I thanked for his time. The next day and officer reached out and told me the employee's name was Sylvia but the refused to give the officer on site her last name. My son was shaken I try hard as parent to protect him for the ignorance and hatred of this word that comes with Bigotry. Reality...
Read moreActually used to love the place, occasionally they'd even hook me up with a free one if I had a bad day sign piloting. But then about 4 years ago I went parked my bike and trailer (yes I actually only had 1 at one time) put my cig out and tossed it in trash with a couple things that were laying there and got in line to actually purchase a couple. Out of the blue the girl working register tells me that the boss said I have to go. Never could get a reason but I just left rather than cause a bigger problem because 3 of the 5 people there got rather upset about it and the one ahead of me in line was getting really verbal so I just said don't sweat it, and left before they could get themselves in trouble over me. Been out here 9 years+now and that became the 3rd place I've ever been excluded from and the other 2, Roscoe's and Montavilla Station about 6 years ago and I've yet to get a real answer on just why yet. Just the old no reason but you can't be here anymore. Dunno, I do my best to be respectful and keep my area and the neighborhood cleaned up as well as time permits but ya can't get along with everyone, and maybe I just rub some folks the wrong way or maybe I just fell in the standard category of homeless=evil that so fits with the city and county approach to things 🤷🏻♂️. Personally y'all will probably love the donuts and have great service from people with a great attitude so don't go skipping them just because I had a poor outcome, frankly I like them far better that Krispi...
Read moreIt's a 24/hr doughnut place, it's literally open 24 hours a day. I went in at 5:00 a.m. I walked in the door and put my heavy work laptop bag down on one of the tables in the lobby and the lady behind the counter immediately said oh the lobby's closed, and I was like wait but can I get donuts and she's like yeah but the lobby's closed. okay not sure what that has to do with anything. So I said I'm ok I just put my bag down because it was heavy and I didn't want to hold it while looking for donuts. Lady again repeated the lobby's closed, So your a 24/hr doughnut shop but your lobby's closed? Cool can I still get some doughnuts? Yeah just the lobby's closed. Again OK so the lobby's always closed like the lobbies never open so people aren't allowed in here to have coffee and donuts? well well not right now no and she just kept going on and on about it. I never said I was staying, I never asked to stay, I never asked if the lobby was open. I'm just found it to be very rude and off-putting like she didn't ask if I was staying and I never say anything about saying literally just put my bag down on one of the little tables that was there and she didn't say anything like that to the next people that walked in behind me so because of that alone I won't be going back,The donuts weren't even that good they were subpar. If you're a 24-hour donut shop and put up a sign that your mommy's closed if you feel the need to shove it down people's throats better yet don't be a 24-hour...
