Jamba — Restaurant in Portland

Well, I doubt things changed because of My particular previous disappointment, but change they have!

I again began occasionally stopping at JJ, and for the last few months when I've ordered my thick smoothies, that's exactly what I get. They are wonderful again!

I get smoothies pretty often, so I'm at Jamba Juice somewhat frequently. Normally, I wouldn't rate them so poorly, however, they seem to have gotten a bunch of new people on board that don't know how to make a thick smoothie - even after three tries!

I've been going to this Jamba Juice location for many years and have and would normally rate it highly! Having new workers is not a sudden thing. By & large, it's high school and college kids that work there so there's often a fair amount of turnover. In my experience, newcomers have always been well trained to take/execute the orders they receive from customers. But, there seems to be some kind of disconnect with the newest batch on board because they really don't get it.

I have to go a little bit of a distance between Jamba and my home, and because of that I always ask for an extra, extra thick smoothie so that it/they don't melt to flavored water before I get home. Until lately, that has never been a problem, but the last 3 times I have been in and requested the same smoothies I always get, the employees either can't or won't make it the way I have always requested.

I know what ingredients to use to make my own at home, so I guess that's what i'm going to do...

I like this Jamba smoothie and Juice, they have some of the best that doesn't push my GERD up, I am their loyal supporter, at-least three times a week, however, this week, I checked their store on 1307 NE 102 AVE Portland Oregon, the staff here is friendly but some of them have put on extremely dirty aprons. This week, I observed it three times.

Today Thursday May 11, 2023, on of the stuff, put a very dirty apron, and as he was putting a lead on my juice, he unintentionally rubbed the lead on his ugly dirty looking apron, the store was full of people, I want to say no to juice and move, but part of me said, well take it think it was just unintentional

As soon as I finished taking the juice, my started running ( too much saliva) well, this was caused by the flash back of what I have observed and what else I missed.....this juice left a bad taste in my mouth. Please improve, looking at dirty aprons or anything while serving us unsettles me....

UPDATE This business has improved a lot since I made my first comment. This time around, they have earned the stars. Looks like they listened. I continue buying from them. Keep up...

Some of the friendliest folks you'll meet. "Fast food" is not an easy job, no matter where you work. The expectations are intense, and the payout is crap. I know Jamba barely qualifies as fast food. But I have seen very few restaurants that claim to be fast food perform as well as this one. With all of that being said, Jamba may be Jamba, but it does matter who makes it. Nearly every time I've come here, my order has been spot on. I like to make a bunch of modifications and really mix it up with my drinks. So attention to those details is important to me.
