EDITED TO ADD: The service here has definitely improved. It's not consistently good, but I've encountered a couple friendly people working here
Original Review: This is such a hard review to leave because I absolutely love their coffee and the baked goods that they stock. Top tier. The cold brew? Perfect. The lattes? So choice. Pastries? Divine
But oh man, the people who work here are always so unpleasant. The first time I came in, I didn't realize everything was vegan, which is fine. I just didn't know. The guy at the counter dramatically rolled his eyes and was extremely condescending about it. I worked in food service and customer service for 10+ years, so I always try to make light, innocuous conversation, but the staff here just...won't. They simply do not want to speak to you. All the employees I've encountered have had a really crusty attitude and act like they hate you for existing
If the customer service were to improve, I may come here more often. But as it is, I rarely do....
Read moreThere is a nice outdoor seating area, and free wifi that's pretty stable and fast. The drip coffee is a tad on the acidic side of things, which is further exacerbated by the place being vegan (no half and half is present in the establishment). You're looking at nearly everything being $0.50 to $1.00 more expensive than a normal coffee place. However, it's pretty chill inside, the staff is nice, and you're very unlikely to be physically assaulted by crazed homeless people this far up Halsey. All their latte type coffee drinks are pretty good, and I reccomend the chai latte with hemp milk. Hemp milk is $0.5 extra, but well worth it for the calm marshmellowy flavor. Or you could load your drink for no extra cost with estrogen laced soy milk I guess and continue being angry at the world for not conforming to your niave sense of...
Read moreI always like to try new places and even though my Boss said "don't go there", I thought "what the heck". I wanted a Mocha but was told they are Vegan so no Dairy Milk is available. At that point, I should have left. It was suggested I get an Americano so I ordered an 8 ounce one. It was good but at $3.50, the price seemed high. The biggest deterrent was the stuff on the walls. Like George Ffloyd, and lots of other Political opinions. Personally, I don't think any of this belongs in a Coffee Shop. My Boss is a Liberal and he said he didn't appreciate it either - not at all. Maybe the Vegan Customer's like that stuff? The place is pretty coo overalll and I'd probably go back if not for their opinions, just...
