I've been going here since 2004 when I moved to the area and have never ever been disappointed once - aside from the long wait ;). I've since moved from the area but will occasionally make the trip when we decide to eat out for breakfast. I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever eaten at any other breakfast spot that comes close to the quality that you get here. I also have yet to find a place that also delivers huge portions as they do here. I recently heard that ownership had changed within the last few years and I was worried that things would be changed and the employees would be replaced. I held hope because I just couldn't see that being a very smart business move as this diner has made itself a reputation that would easily crumble with such drastic changes. I was so glad to see familiar faces and the same yummy food I have throughout the years. Be prepared for a good wait. Its to be expected for such a popular place. I promise the wait will be more than worth it. The customer service is pretty straight forward. Not overly friendly bur not rude. Every once in awhile Ill get very friendly server but either way, Its never bad service. Just .... Rushed(?) For lack of a better word. But again, to be expected with such a popular place with constant flow of customers. These guys literally are on go mode entire shift so honestly im surprised they don't have crabby attitudes lol. I try to tip high here as I know they work their tails off and its also nice to see the same faces for years on end. I recommend the Country Breakfast. My husband suggests the same and my dad always loved the Farmers Daughter omelette with country gravy on top! I just love their traditional waffles!!! So don't forget one of those!

Nice place, good food but wait times can be completely ridiculous. Put my name on the list with only 3 people ahead of me. Waited almost an hour and a half to be seated. If you see more than one person ahead of you, you may want to consider going down the street to one of the other breakfast places. Update: I was actually trying to be nice about it but the truth is that we waited more than an hour and a half and one of the people ahead of us left before being seated. The service and food was very good. I will go back again. But people should be warned before encountering this themselves so they can entertain other options if they don't have time for it. This is not a bad review against the business but rather fair warning to those that want to come and enjoy the good food. UPDATE: I went back after the covid restrictions were lifted and it is a far better experience now. The turnover is much faster and overall is now a pleasant experience. Great people and very good food. Large portion sizes and cooked beautifully. I will be back.

I love breakfast and never turn down a chance to try someplace new. The Gateway Breakfast House was on my home from a night shift at the hospital. Perfect opportunity to see if all the good reviews were true and hey a president ate there once, too.

The good reviews were absolutely right and I felt the need to add my own to the stack. I ordered a Chicken Blue Scramble with peppered chicken, ham, swiss, and topped with parmesan. Oh and two large pancakes in place of hashbrowns and toast. If I was going to splurge on breakfast, I was go gonna go all in. It was delicious! The service was exceptionally fast and Judy, my waitress, was beyond amazing. She greeted regulars with gusto and made us newbies feel equally as welcome. The food was top notch. The eggs were fluffy and perfectly cooked. The peppered chicken had just the right amount of spice. The ham was tender and the cheese was creamy and melted into each nook offered by all the other ingredients. Now I'll be honest, I'm not a huge pancake fan, but for some reason they sounded good. And they were. So pillowy soft and lightly sweet, I felt like a little kid again shoving buttery mouthfuls of fluffy, syrup drenched goodness down my throat. I will definitely be back to try their eggs benedict 😋

I would highly recommend checking out the Gateway Breakfast House. Getting there early is recommended, they seemed to be filling up fast after 7:30am on a Friday. With any luck you'll get the charming Judy to be your host. Thank you Judy and the amazing kitchen staff. Your making some...

Today I was sat at the bar where the chair was very uncomfortable and hurting my legs as they dangled because I wasn’t able to reach the floor the manager Judy tries to gaslight me to tell me all the chairs are different, Why don’t I try a different chair when in fact, they’re the same size and have no foot rest for me. I asked for a booster seat so that I could put my feet on it and I was told no. They never been asked that before, and she did not want me to be pushed back even more I tried to explain to her that I would not be pushed back even more. It would sit fine where I’m at. There was a baby’s highchair behind me and she was struggling because I had to push my seat in when she passed. I had to push my chair back so I could lean forward uncomfortably to reach the floor so that I wasn’t cutting my thighs on the edge of the chair while they dangled off the side of the chair with no support underneath my feet I’ve never been treated like that before. I’ve sat uncomfortably there before and did not feel like doing it again today as I just wanted to relax but that was not the place to go apparently, I eat there at least twice a month and I’m very unsatisfied with how I was...
