108 Bar N Grill — Restaurant in Portland

Hello, my name is Melanie Dallas. I had a horrific experience in your bar last week. ** Every single time I go to this restaurant/bar which is often (2-3 times a month) - I have to pay as soon as I place an order for my food or I have give them my credit card to start a tab (which they keep behind the bar until I am ready to leave) ...Last week I watched a Caucasian man and lady that had ordered an abundance of food and drinks and were seated...walk up to the counter, reach into his wallet and pay for their meal with a credit card. He was not asked to pay upfront as I was nor was he asked for a credit card to start a tab? He paid, after consuming a meal and drinks. I asked the young lady at the counter why this happened? Why did I have to pay up front and not him? She didn't have an explanation, but did apologize - I asked for the owners phone number and name. She mentioned that it was the server prior to her that let the man do it - because they are friends?? That did not make sense to me because a Rule is a Rule right? I've asked the folks that work in the bar that day and several times since to have the OWNER of this establishment call me. (Nothing) I asked them for a phone # to contact the owner myself and they gave me the PHONE NUMBER TO THE RESTAURANT??!! ...when I called, I was told that they do not have a way to contact the owner at all (NOT TRUE) and had no idea when he will be at the restaurant. I was talked down to, by a staff PERSON NAMED LISA - who was upset because I wanted to speak to the owner (Per LISA the man & woman are friends of hers & because of that...they don't have to pay in advance, like I had to) Lisa threatened to call the police on me because I wanted to speak to the owner and she knew that she was wrong. This incident does not sit well with me and I haven't slept well since that day. This place is awesome.

They have a great menu to order from. The food is always deliciously amazing! My favorite thing to order are the wings and calamari. Bartenders always make the drinks right and they are fantastic human beings. They work so hard and have lots of fun so it's a great relaxed vibe.

I really enjoy coming here for date night, birthday outings and more. Seriously the best bar and grill in town. The hubby likes playing pool here and we always have a kickass time. Sometimes we sit at the bar and sometimes we sit at the booth. Either way, the bartenders always come check on us and give us refills. 5 star service every time I've gone in.

It can be busy so the parking lot might get full. Street parking is safe and free. This place might not look so flashy and impressive on the outside... but I assure you, looks can be deceiving. This place be popping. There's lots of happy...

My friends and have tried this place 3 times now and have had bad luck every time. Went in twice and sat at table for over 15 minutes before getting service.

The last and final time my wife and I went in and sat at the bar and saw a nice big plate of food going to a table, I asked the bartender if I could order that and he said no.

I asked why not, he said that was a special order and I could not get it. Then to justify it he said that person brought in there own food and they cooked it for them. I know that's against the rules.

They can't discriminate from one customer...
