Our server was super sweet and the service was great. The food on the other hand…. missed the mark big time. Our daughter ordered the Cajun fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. There was a huge scoop of pico de gallo dead center of the pasta and the grilled chicken stacked on top of that. She tried taking it off but everything tasted like raw onion and cilantro. That was sent back, and instead she opted for a baked potato. It was enormous, which is great if that is going to be your entrè. There was very little cheese and bacon, yet it appeared that they emptied 16oz of sour cream on it. Very bizarre experience. I had their fish tacos with blackened trout, and it was ok. It was really oily. We had calamari and boudin balls as appetizers. The sauce for the calamari wasn’t warm, and the calamari was a bit chewy. My husband enjoyed the boudin balls and the tartar sauce that they make in-house, which was delicious. Our youngest loved her popcorn shrimp and green beans. I tried the green beans and they were so good. My husband had the jumbo shrimp and catfish. He said it was ok, but that we wouldn’t be coming back. We live in Corpus Christi and drive over to Portland to check this place out. My husband’s co-worker recommended it. We must have had a different cook...
Read moreI've been to this place once to dine in and once with carry out. Both times have been disappointing. The time we dined in we were disappointed by the menu options and surprised by the prices they had pinned to the food in reference. The food didn't taste bad but it lacked luster by the portions and the taste for the price. We decided not to return. Today 6-12-25 I called in a simple order for carry out. I ordered a ceaser salad and grilled shrimp. the ceaser salad was $10 and the grilled shrimp were an additional $7. I knew this was a bit high but i was limited by time and location to get a salad. I picked up my order and took it home and to my surprise there was 3, THREE shrimp of only maybe a large size when the menu discription stated "Jumbo". For seven damn dollars? The grocery store sells "jumbo" shrimp for less than $6 per pound. I have told several people not to frequent this place and the poor people of Portland have know idea that they're getting screwed but I'll continue to tell people that ask not to go because this place has outragous prices and they can't justify them. Read moreNice seafood addition to Portland. Place has a good vibe. I had the fried black drum ($20, listed as "Market Price"). Nice portion, it and the slaw were both good. I'd actually rate it just over 4 stars but in all I was satisfied with the entire plate. I was over there on business by myself so I sat at the bar. The experience with the bartender was a bit strange, when I ordered she repeated everything back incorrectly. In fairness she seemed distracted by something else going on and it was busy and noisy but 'hey, pay attention to your customer', I tip well but deducted a little (still was about 20%) because it was not top notch service. Other than that a good experience & I will not hesitate to go back. Doesn't always come up on Google Maps as I understand it is very new. It's by the Philly Sandwich place...
