I called several times on Thursday to make a reservation, but they did not pick up the phone, so my friend and I decided to go with no reservation on Friday. Turned out it wasn't needed at all. We walked in at 5PM, and there was only 1 customer at the restaurant. I really liked how you pay first here like some ramen restaurants in Japan. I got the Tonkotsu Shoyu. The soup was unfortunately lukewarm (maybe on purpose so people don't sue Matsunoki?) but it tasted good. The crispy pork belly chashu was great. I personally like chewy thick noodles so I didn't like their thin noodles much. The green onions were overcooked to me. The boiled egg was good. Overall I think it was a good bowl of ramen at a reasonable price. Only 3 stars for "Atmosphere" because I saw several flies inside the restaurant (just like most restaurants downtown Portland.) My chair cushion, some of chopsticks and spoons looked dirty.

We visited this Ramen place because I saw it being reviewed on Facebook, and it looked good! We both ordered the Spicy Red Ramen with extra chasu, an order of shishito peppers, and the 2 piece original chicken tenders. The shishito peppers were cooked well and came with a spicy sauce for dipping. The chicken tenders came with a curry sauce. They were a little dry but tasted good with the dipping sauce. The ramen was excellent! It came with a perfect gooey ramen egg, al dente noodles, crispy fatty pork belly, and spicy broth 10/10! My husband would have preferred a seafood option, so hopefully, in the future, they could add that. We will definitely be back.

Tbh I really loved it and I'm so happy it's in this neighborhood. I think my main complaint is I wish there were more vegetables add ins, I have blood sugar issues and this is super carby. I also wish instead of keto free they had kale noodles or something low carb but just being picky. I think maybe the menu is limited because they just opened up. Tonkotsu shoyu ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - creamy - loved the crisp on the pork, melts in your mouth - wish it had more vegetables Curry Rice bowl ⭐⭐✨ - could do better at home I think - didn't like how little substance there was for the price, like maybe 1 cm of curry that wasn't super flavorful

My partner and I were very excited to try your new restaurant. Unfortunately it didn’t go as planned. No greeting upon arrival, long wait to order, food was being mis-delivered to multiple tables including ours, dining room was messy, staffer was slamming dishware, etc. After finally waiting over half an hour and never receiving our food, we decided to give up and get a refund. The person working was not friendly or apologetic. They seemed really checked out like they didn’t want to be there. Guessing these were all just growing pains from being a newly opened restaurant, but hard to say we’ll ever want to go back to give it another shot after how this first...
