Après Seltzer Bar Review
Après has an awesome lineup of house-made seltzers—creative flavors, not too heavy, and super drinkable. Here’s a breakdown of what I tried:
Standouts ⭐ • Cherry Rickey (cherry + pine): My #1. The pine really makes it unique, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. • Thé Vert (green tea + peach): Smooth, light, and dangerously easy to drink. Doesn’t taste like alcohol at all. • Strawberry Basil (Rosa Verde): Really tasty, great balance between fruity and herbal. A little sweet, but in a good way.
Solid Picks 👍 • Blueberry Lemon (Isle): Super light, almost too light—feels like it’s missing some alcohol punch, but it’s refreshing enough that I could drink a bunch. • So Was Red (raspberry + rhubarb): Very crushable. Tart, which isn’t my personal favorite, but I get why people love it. • Lime Rickey (lemon + lime + pine): Solid, refreshing, though the cherry version is better. • Argonaut (ginger + lemon): Good combo, but I wanted more ginger bite.
Middle of the Pack 🤷 • I Am (peach + grapefruit + lime): Sweet and bubbly, not bad, but not my favorite. • Falmouth (cranberry + lime): Fine, but just didn’t click with me—can’t quite put my finger on why.

Overall
Après has one of the more creative and fun seltzer menus I’ve seen. The Cherry Rickey is a must-try, and the herbal blends like Strawberry Basil and Thé Vert stand out from the typical fruity seltzers you get elsewhere. Some drinks lean light or sweet, but that makes them super sessionable. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into unique...
Read moreAprès in Portland, Maine to try a seltzer & a cider from these guys. I'm not a big fan of seltzer, but what this place offers is a hundred percent a step above the usual store bought seltzer. I have always been a big fan of ciders though, definitely one of the styles I drank the most of in 2020-2021. It's great to have a place that's different from every other brewery in Portland, helps it stand out for sure. 🍻💪
The two pours I got were the CHILE NELSON Seltzer, which was easily one of the best seltzer's I have personally had with blood orange, lime, chile & sea salt. The cider I got was called BARRENS, which had a subtle blueberry, dry & tart taste, delicious as well. That CHILE NELSON was the winner & I highly suggest checking it out. 🍻🍺
Place was pretty big inside with all the seating options from bar, high tops, tables, patio & a comfy couch & chair section which is where my friends & I sat. They had complimentary jello shots which was awesome & unexpected. Plenty of cans to go & if I hadn't been on foot I would have brought home the bomb seltzer I had. Definitely worth checking out & exceeded my expectations for the seltzer for sure! 🍻🍻🔥☘🍁

Read moreUsed to love this place--but, after my last 3 times there, I'm done, won't go back. Today I drove a good distance only to them being closed during business hours, Thursday about 3:20pm but closed for private party. I checked their website and checked social media and all said OPEN. The time before that, kids screaming, running around, running on the circular seat, taking chairs away from multiple tables dragging them all around, pushing them down, and using them for their toys. Parents weren't doing any parenting. No staff ever looked outside, even once to do a little damage control. I saw people walk up to, but not sit at certain tables that would have otherwise been open because the kids were using them for "toys" and parents were off at their own table. Instead of keeping their children with them (as they should!), they let their kids use the establishment as their playground. I wish some parents wouldn't use a fine establishment as their "daycare" but they do. Shame on those parents but a tiny bit of respectful correction from staff...
