Anyone that reads my reviews knows that I do not give out 5 stars very often, in fact I rarely do. Two Fat Cats is definitely a place that deserves it. The atmosphere is incredible, feels like you are walking into the family kitchen of a rustic old farmhouse. The staff is friendly, kind, and oh so very welcoming. The food .....OH MY GOD the food. As a former fat guy (I've lost 231 pounds in the last year) and foodie I secretly wished that I could eat one of everything I saw. Due to my now smaller stomach I was restricted to just a couple bites of my wife's food. Bacon, egg, and cheese on a scallion and cheddar biscuit. Wow!!! The biscuit was so flaky and flavorful and HUGE!! Definitely my new favorite biscuit and I doubt anyone will be able to knock it out of first place. Everything I eat for breakfast from now on will be forever inferior. Cinnamon brown sugar "Morning Toastie" was basically a bougie pop tart. Light flaky crust filled with a cinnamon and brown sugar filling and iced with cinnamon icing. WOW!!! So amazing. Trust me, you do not want to sleep on this place. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Support an amazing local business for breakfast. Forgot Dunkin and all the other over priced, mass produced, frozen, and full of preservatives crap out ther YOU WANT TO COME HERE!! Everything scratch made in an open kitchen, right in front of you. You will not be...
Read moreI ordered a cake for my partner's 50th birthday party. I gave them three weeks' notice and a written email with a vibe I was going for that included some design asks and multiple colors. I was told it would be no problem. I prepaid with a 20 percent tip. On the day of the party, I was wildly disappointed with the simplistic decorating. The person at the front offered to knock off the decorating fee, but no bakers were there to help make it look better. I was stunned and left with the cake, only to sit in my car in the parking lot, crying to my friend. When I got home, I called the bakery and the person who answered the phone was helpful and apologetic, but they couldn't do anything since I had already left with the cake. She asked me to email the bakery manager (whom I initially emailed about my cake request). She told me it was my problem since I left with the cake, she was sorry they didn't have the colors I asked for and there was nothing they could do. She was not helpful and seemed to not care about my experience, or how the cake looked, and said the issue should have been resolved when they gave me a discount, and I left with the cake. The cake was frozen and tasted dry, to the point, it was mentioned to me at the party, and it was incredibly disappointing to experience this from a local bakery, which many people love. Will not recommend to...
Read moreTook a 20+ min walk to give this place a try BUT was truly disappointed in the selections. Went there on a Wednesday around 1pm and choices were limited and not that appealing. Chose the warm Spinach and Feta Hand Pie, gluten free Chocolate and Walnut Cookie and the Coconut Lemon Square. The hand pie and lemon square were both underwhelming and ended up throwing both away after a few bites. The chocolate cookie was the better choice but it was small like 2" or so round but sadly the whole bottom was missing. I would not have sold this cookie. The spinach and feta hand pie was not seasoned well and missing feta (there was very little feta throughout the hand pie) to balance the tough spinach. There was too much citrus in the spinach that needed to have the tough stems removed for a better mouthfeel. Ate about 1/3 of it and the vegetal taste became too much that my taste buds said No Mas. I love lemon squares and with coconut crumbles, it seems like the best of both worlds. Sadly, I could only taste the shortbread cookie crust and not the lemon filling. After eating a couple of bites of the way too crumbly crust was a turn off that no amount of tea could help with the dryness. It was more like a shortbread cookie with a lemon curd glaze. Definitely not worth the 45 mins round trip walk. My taste buds...
