First let me say I appreciate all employees who are working through this pandemic. Let me also say every business that is open and selling their product should do everything possible to provide the same level of consistency and quality provided before the current situation. Preparation of pizza has not been affected, maybe availability of ingredients but what else?
So I ordered a pizza that was an exact copy of what I always get but apparently they were out of ground beef and mushrooms. I received no call or notification that they were out and when I went to get the pizza no note on the box or comment. Upon opening to check I realized it was not as ordered. The other ingredients were sparse and did not come close to covering the pizza. Sad that cheese not sauce came even close to covering the pie. When I asked, I was given a completely apathetic response and told they were out of the aforementioned beef and mushrooms. No apology or even any concern as to why I was so disappointed. When I was offered no solution, I asked if they could remake it. The employee told me as soon as she took care of the internet orders received after mine, she would make another. After 8 minutes of waiting I dejectedly took my now cold pizza and left. It was tasty, I will give them that, but far from filling. I was going to just leave it at that and mull over ever returning when I saw I had a survey in my email. Upon outlying my frustration with the experience, I received a canned response neither addressing my concerns or offering any explanation as to why I was not notified about the outages. There was an inclusion explaining their efforts during the covid-19 pandemic, but nothing different than others.
The moral of the story, do not use the app as their is no guarantee you will get what you ordered or be notified of any deletions. Do not expect any help in resolving a situation with a mis-prepared pizza or one that does not meet your expectations and do not expect anything resembling concern by completing a survey or calling to voice you’re dissatisfaction. They do not care to hear about it.
Now, two stars. The pizza that was there was good and I have had only two issues out of the dozen times or my I have been. If you go in and have them prepare it in front of you, I can assure you that they Will do a great job! Just follow that simple piece of...
Read moreWe normally love Mod Pizza but tonight's experience was terrible. We ordered delivery, then got a notice on my phone that the pizza had been delivered - opened the front door to find no pizza. Waited about 5 minutes, then called Mod to let them know our pizza hadn't been delivered. While I was on the phone with Mod, our driver called and said she couldn't find our apartment so I gave her detailed directions. After over 15 minutes with still no pizza, I called Mod. They apologized and said they would make new pizza and have it delivered to us (we chose that rather than a refund as we were hungry, we love Mod Pizza, and nobody else would have been faster). Finally, our pizza arrived - right at the time we were told it would be on the phone). Now, the bad part: As soon as we picked it up from our porch, we noticed the boxes weren't hot (uh-oh). We tasted the pizza and it was cold and soggy (first time ever for us from Mod), even though it had supposedly come out of the oven less than 20 minutes from us eating it (the crust is usually crisp; this was cold & limp) Makes me wonder if the first driver brought the old/cold pizzas back and they delivered those instead of the hot new ones we were promised. Very disappointing from a much loved fave. P.S. - I should note that we get lots of deliveries here from many businesses and have never had anyone have issues finding our apartments. Our complex is large but well-lit; each driveway has a large, well-lit sign with the street number in large print; each building has the associated numbers listed on the sides, there are large signs on each door with the apartment number listed, and there are large, detailed, maps at each entrance to...
Read moreI general like Mod pizza, but part of any business is the "service," and on our recent trip to the 122nd/Halsey location failed miserably.
I've read other reviews regarding their online (app) orders and the type of bleak service that accompanies it, and sadly, I can only confirm the same. I was quoted 20 minutes, and STILL I didn't show until 25 min's.
When we asked for our pizzas - they were JUST putting one into the oven, and the other hadn't even been finished. We ended up waiting another 25 min's ( total of about 45 min's)
What could we do? We had already paid through their app (my first time trying it out) We tried to talk to someone, but this location is ALWAYS so understaffed, you can't talk with anyone let alone get help.
In the end, after we got home, one of the pizza's was COMPLETELY wrong -- missing at least two of the requested toppings, completely wrong size, and missing ALL the wrong amount of requested toppings.
I've tried contacting them at least three times through THEIR methods of contact they provide to get at the very least a partial refund. To date - I've STILL YET to hear back. So... if something goes wrong with your order, and you're not able to get help then and there - you're probably pretty much out of luck.
Summary: there's pro's & con's about this place... pizza is good, BUT it's always understaffed. You nearly have to grab the toppings yourself when you ask for MORE meat, and they ALWAYS seem to be out of their most popular beverage, the berry lemonade! Service: inconsistent & bad......
