Otto's Sausage Kitchen saved my day and holiday cooking with never-frozen Fresh Pork Belly!

I was driving around town for three hours with no luck finding decent-looking frozen pork belly from grocery markets. Desperate, I did a quick search on Yelp for butcher shops. I called the closest three shops to my location, and none had fresh pork belly. One of them said they received them last week, and they are in the freezer now, so they couldn't tell me how old the meat was.

I was about to give up, and then Otto's Sausage Kitchen was 4th on my list. Since I saw the word sausage, I thought they would be more likely to have fresh supplies of pork on hand.

Heidi answered the phone. She was super friendly and helpful with what I asked and looked for. She told me the amount of fresh pork belly they have on hand and would save one for me to come by to pick it up.

Ten minutes later, I arrived at Otto's for the first time. There was a line waiting for them wiener from Otto's Grill outside around 12:30 pm.

Another staff helped me when I told them I called earlier and spoke with Heidi. He brought out a whole pork belly since he said they didn't know how much I wanted. I took half, and it weighed 5.830 lbs. ($12 per lb.) of sexy, fresh-looking never-frozen pork belly! Otto's Sausage Kitchen saved the day, and my adult son was happy since I needed this fresh pork belly to make his childhood favorite dish that he requested for Christmas Eve dinner.

The store was crowded, yet service was prompt. Otto's is cozy and bustling, with patrons of various needs. Deli style quick in and out with 2-3 small tables inside and benches outside for Otto's Grill. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back to check out their dogs...

After a very negative experience for a happy ottos lunch I was charged $34 for 1 hot dog 1 Pepsi can and. 1 whole sandwich. I called after my work shift cause I had taken the food Togo. We waited for an hour for food and no one caught the mistake. I felt unwelcome and hustle. Today I called the manger on duty who was professional enough to refund me fully, and asked me to never come back. I have been coming to ottos since 2012. I never felt so disrespected because ottos employees did not to hear that the Mac salad had large egg shell pieces and I was felt robbed when my lunch was $34. The resolution for me I wanted them to know the experience to have the team work their attention and attitudes to the customer. “Please don’t come back” was Heidi last comment. Which is confusing since I called for a price adjustment and to let them know that I felt like unwelcome. I won’t be back and neither will all the friends and family that loves to buy packs of meats. Bad energy bad crew and bad food. Ain’t like how it use to be. Thanks Heidi for the refund, but no thanks to the “don’t come back “ to sober lunch clients , very unethical we were wrong according to her....

Their sausages on the outdoor grill are incredible! And you can ask for your bun to be preheated so it's nice and crispy with the sausage! Then once you have your sausage on the bun, there are several choices to top it with...my favorite 😍 is their saurkraut...I pile that on along with Portland Ketchup, German mustard and diced onions! It's all a big mouthful IF you can get your mouth around the huge sausage and bun with all the accompaniments! It takes a good half hour to eat it! 😋 Once we're all done eating outside at their picnic tables we go inside to order from behind the deli and butcher counter. We always get sausages to go as well as their saurkraut, macaroni salad, coleslaw and meats for sandwiches! 🥪 And if you want to take home a hot meal you can order behind the other counter and get something really good to take home! 🏡 While you're waiting you can browse around the store for German canned foods and various authentic delicacies they have! There's so much to choose from and I'd definitely recommend Otto's if you have a craving for a delicious sausage that has a good, crisp snap with every bite...
