Sadly I have to update my review and let you know why I will no longer be a regular customer here.
My last visit I ordered called in a take out order. When I arrived I was told it wasn't ready (it was the time they told me it would be ready), I tipped well and let them know I would wait outside. Another 25 minutes later I go in to check on my order. It was sitting on the counter, not under a heat lamp getting cold.
They never came out and called my name. I was watching. They just put it there and let it get cold while wasting 25 minutes of my time. After I left them a good tip, on a carry out order. The food was cold, and worse the fries weren't even fully cooked. Bringing me to my bigger issue..
The consistency of the food is terrible. Even worse, it has gotten even more inconsistent over the years.
What do I mean by that? Lets take the Loaded Burlington as an example, as I often order this and it's all over the map. First of all, the fries very often anymore come out under cooked. When they are cooked correctly they are crispy and perfect. However many times they come out under cooked, from slightly to this last time I ordered, straight up raw. As in I couldn't eat them they were not cooked enough. Nothing worse than under cooked fries.
That's not all though. The amounts of toppings is seemingly random. Some times it tastes like they don't add salt, sometimes they put so much salt on it that it puckers the lips. Sometimes there is almost no BBQ sauce and sometimes it's drowning in it. Same with the slaw, from almost none to drowning in slaw.
These are not slight differences I am talking about. It's like the employees have no idea how much is supposed to be on there and just do whatever they want. Resulting in a product that ranges from great to completely inedible.
These problems are not limited to just the fries, it is anything you buy here. It's just more noticeable on the loaded fries.
Consistency in your orders going out is hard, I get that. Mistakes happen. I like the food enough I put up with an above average amount of mistakes over the years. As I have stated in my past positive reviews of this place. I have been a customer since it was a food cart. I love this place. However the inconsistency's just keep getting worse. I cannot keep spending money here when it's a gamble if I can even...
Read moreDuring the 112°+ weekend we recently had my family and I decided to stay at a hotel in downtown Portland for a night before heading to the coast. While figuring out dinner we found that Door Dash was offering 50% off if we picked up the food ourselves. We placed our order and I went to pick it up. When I arrived it was super busy. I told the person my name and they checked and said it would be awhile and they offered me a seat while I waited. About 10 minutes later a big family came in and I offered them my seat since I was sitting alone at a large table. There was nowhere else to sit so I stood near the bathrooms while waiting. The bartender approached me and politely asked my name. He went over to check then looked at me and said "oh, Door Dash, we can't just have people hanging out inside you gotta go wait outside dude"!!!! Unbelievably rude and loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear it, all while smerking like he was some tough guy. I explained I don't work for Door Dash that I was the paying customer and explained the deal they were offering and how I gave up my seat so another family could have the table. No apology, no sorry about that, he just said "oh well you'll have to wait at the end of the bar". Keep in mind it was 114° outside and the end of the bar is in direct sunlight. Also keep in mind I had placed the order 15 minutes before I arrived and had been waiting there for almost another 20 minutes before this happened. After an additional 20 minutes of standing at the end of the smoldering bar they finally brought my food. Got back to the hotel just to find out we were missing about $20 worth of our $60 meal. Although after dealing with the bartenders obviously high intellect, I should've known to check it before I left. That was and will be the only time we ever deal...
Read moreI've had PDX Sliders before and appreciate the creativity. They have a lot of unique combinations and excellent aiolis. The quality seems to slip from location to location, or maybe some workers don't put as much care into it, and it shows. Last night I placed an order online for pickup at their Division store. The food was ready quickly and the worker was pleasant. Hours later I'm praying to the porcelain gods. I called this morning to let them know what I had ordered in case they get other calls, and suggested they may want to check temps, cross contamination, etc. I ordered 1 beef burger, 1 pork slider, 1 meatball slider, fries, and 2 different aoilis. My efforts to help the store and maybe other people were laughed at. The worker on the phone didn't care, was unhelpful and undisturbed. They said that they get all their pork fully cooked before it gets to the store. Well, that's all fine and well, but it still needs to be held at a certain temperature and there are countless opportunities for X contamination when you have raw eggs, meat, veggies, cheeses, etc touching a lot of the same surfaces. It only takes 1 little mistake or oversight to make a bunch of people sick. I'm young, and my guts are wrecked and had to miss work this morning. Older or younger people could get really sick. I reassured the worker that I'm not calling trying to get anything, I just want them to check their food. Again, the worker did not care or seem concerned about checking in with the kitchen, and gave me dead silence on the phone. Really unprofessional. If you don't care about making people sick then you should not be in food service. The lack of concern for food safety displayed by your worker reflects poorly on your business and will affect your...
