Great atmosphere with cool vintage items displayed around the shop. Really friendly staff but I only gave 3 stars because they are not a coffee shop that repeats the order back to you so you just have to trust they got it right. When I'm at a place that doesn't do that I always say, "Did I say oat milk?" to be absolutely certain that my drink won't have cow milk and it sounds less Karen than, "did you get the oat milk?" Anyhow, I ordered "large iced vanilla latte with oat milk" (I know I know) and did my usual gambit about the milk. I also wanted to do it about making certain it was gonna be iced but damn I didn't want to be that person. Sure enough, it came out hot. Don't get me wrong, it's a really good coffee and I'm glad to have it. I just came in all hot and sweaty and I REEEAALLY wanted an iced drink. To their credit they did offer to make another one and were real sweet about it but I didn't want to waste it and they were busy. This is a really flippin' long roundabout way of saying it should be protocol that baristas repeat back the order. Yep, that is worth 2 entire stars on its own, lol. But I definitely love this place...
Read moreI normally donât ever leave bad reviews for businesses and itâs rare I make an exception. Last week my dad was visiting Portland and we stopped at Wallflower to grab coffee. He was very excited to spend time in the city and try something experimental on the menu. The girl at the counter was just straight up rude, inconvenienced, and annoyed by our presence.
I usually take 1 star reviews with a grain of salt because i know customers can be jerks. I also understand that workers have bad days, and trust me Iâve been on the other side of the counter, I know it can be a taxing job. But there was nothing about the encounter to warrant such a terrible attitude and the coffee wasnât even that great. I felt so bad about taking my dad here.
People deserve to be treated with respect when they bring business to your establishment, at the very minimum, especially when theyâre genuinely excited to be there. I will say the decor was...
Read moreI try to go to new coffee shops in my neighborhood when meeting friends so today we met here. Unfortunately, it wasnât a great experience. To be fair, the people were very friendly as others have said. I understand why they donât have more food options (although we do usually get something to eat too but there just wasnât much there today). However, the space is cold - literally. And itâs a bit stark. The two person tables could be much smaller to make for a cozier atmosphere. And maybe more color or art or plants? Iâm not sure! It just felt sort of cold and corporate. The music was a bit too loud and because of the emptiness of that space it sort of echoed making it hard to hear each other!! And - honestly, the coffee was fine - not great. Iâm a dark coffee lover and I think they must use a medium blend that wasnât my favorite. But I see some people love it which is great! It...
