Starbucks you ought to be optimizing your processes for the customer…..not for yourselves. Recently you installed individual brew systems for drip coffee. That’s great, but…….. The idea that drip coffee customers now need to wait for all of the espresso bar drinks just to get their drip coffee is more than ridiculous. At this store in particular, at 9am Saturday morning on July 20th, hot food/sandwiches were coming out within 1-2 minutes of ordering. Drop coffee was taking upwards of 15 minutes. Just read that one more time. Pretty ridiculous, right?
The cashier used to take the drip coffee order and immediately turn around to the coffee station and pour your drink. Total wait time…..15 seconds. This morning at this store, that wait time was 60 times slower. 60 times. Wow!!!!
On top of that, when I asked the cashier if she could just pour my drink so I didn’t have to wait 15 minutes, she literally ignored me. So, I raised my argument a bit higher, and a gentleman with blond hair stepped in to assist. In addition, as another customer heard the discussion he stepped up and lodged the same complaint. He had been waiting 13 minutes for an 8 oz cup of coffee.
If the gentlemen would not have helped us (and broke corporate policy according to him) this would have been a ZERO star review.
Please Starbucks Corporate, fix this issue. It’s easy and impactful. If I were you I would change your process back to the cashier handling the drip coffee drinks for every store in the world today. The store employees know it’s a bad process (because they told me) but they have to follow your corporate rules.
While I am at it (though I did not observe this today because I did not order a sandwich) you also need to stop queuing up the hot food behind the counter. At multiple Starbucks recently, I observed the hot food maker stacking up 6, 7, 10 + sandwiches before carrying them over to the bar for the customers that were waiting. The result: the wait is long and the food is cold and disappointing. Your benefit, you saved 15-20 steps for one of your store employees walking back and forth from the oven to the counter as each sandwich is done.
In summary, leadership ought to go into the stores and experience what I am talking about and i think you will quickly realize that my suggestions make a lot of sense.

Read moreIf I could do zero stars I would. I used to come here daily, when I worked on the island. Needless to say, I was extremely upset to see the place had gone downhill completely. The baristas seem to be more interested in joking around than providing quality customer service, annoying both sit in and drive thru customers. The coffee took entirely too long to make, and while waiting the barista, Madi spelt that way kept making rude comments that seemed like she was trying to be a cross of dutch brothers and waitress from one of those restaurants that insult you. Starbucks is known to be a more mellow, professional coffee feel. With place it seemed Madi and the rest of the baristas on shift only felt like being loud, obnoxious and joking around. They certainly weren't paying attention to the coffee, as the kids hot chocolate was scorching hot and my drink was even hotter. Absolutely the worst made drinks, worse customer service, and Madi was by far the worst barista I have ever experienced. I for sure will not come back to...
Read moreHere recently,(about 1 month ago)(so forever ago in barista days) they put a new item on the menu. It's basically a caramel frap with cold brew added to it. Since they placed it on the menu,I have ordered it 4 times now. 2 of the 4 times they did not include the cold brew. Today was one of those times. I pointed it out to the cashier. Her response was"you're right," "but we are out of the cold brew". "Most people don't even notice......" My response was then you should have told me, and not charged me for the cold brew. Asked her to refund the difference of the drinks back to me. She snottily looked at the prices and said the difference was.50. It may not sound like much. But if I went there 5 days/week that's 10.00 per month, that's 120.00/year that I paid for something I did not recieve....... Even if they got it right 1/2 the time that still amounts to 60.00 that I could have spent elsewhere. So since "most people don't even notice" they probably won't notice my never going...
