Placed an order online through the website for pickup and when I arrived 10 minutes after the app says my order was ready, the white lady with short hair pale face seemingly 120 lbs name starting with an E was sharp and hostile from the start. She told us to wait by the doors and while we waited for the next 10 minutes in the cold, she came outside the doors. My friend who was with me asked her if we could stand in the doorway where it was warm and she immediately laughed and said no. It didn’t stop there, after my friend asked her if he could talk after her response, she rudely cut him off saying “no you can’t talk to me, my store is closed and I can cancel your order”. The immediate unprovoked hostility was not something I expected. Especially when I myself work in the customer service industry. She walked away and was screaming at my friend the whole time, before speaking on her headpiece “actually cancel his order, he’s not getting his order”. At that point I spoke up and told her she wasn’t going to cancel my order because it was me who placed it. She then spoke back on the headpiece to talk to the two other older women inside “never mind don’t cancel the order..it’s hers..but she’s lying”. Not only was she hostile and picking a fight with my friend, she went on to call me a liar. Baffled at the whole experience. Perhaps if I were Caucasian and not brown she would’ve spoken more softly to us both. Or simply offer the customer service that people are trained to give, similar to where I work. Disappointed and now worried about the food being tampered. The older lady with long black hair came back and apologized on her behalf. Meanwhile, the younger girl came back and still kept yelling over my friend. I honestly think everything was blown out of proportion from the server themselves. Comments “I’m the boss, I’ll cancel your order, who orders a $40 meal at 10:30pm anyways”….really? The food in itself looked rushed. If you don’t mind the racism and lack of house training, expect the poorest service you’ll...
Read moreWent here last night, with my friend, boyfriend, and her 2 year old. When I went to order the guy couldn’t hear me so I had to repeat what I was ordering multiple times (not a big deal) then says my total was $20.45 so I go to the window and there’s a lady at the window and right away I could tell she was gonna be rude.(by the way she handed me my stuff and said the total (the tone in her voice) so I asked her if she could repeat my order (politely) just because the guy couldn’t really hear me at the order place and she got really irritated and said my order super fast then told me the total again $20.45 so I ask her if I can do $10 cash and the rest on my card and she says fine, takes the ten dollars and says ok and the rest is $13 something and I said well you said it was $20.45 and she literally throws my $10 through my window at my face and says “you know what?; I don’t have time for this have a good night” and I’m like ?? What the heck.. I just sat there in shock because I didn’t do anything nor was I rude.. so then the guy that originally took my order comes to the window (she went to the back office) and he says my manager says she’s refusing service and so I told him what happened and said I don’t know why I can’t get my food and he says (really rudely) we’ll we aren’t serving you. And I said well I’m sitting here till I get me food and he says well then we’ll call the cops. Then the manager comes back to the window (doesn’t open it) and says you’re not getting your food and grabs it and brings it farther back in the kitchen.. so I just sit in my car waiting (I guess for nothing) and there’s 2 cars behind me and she turns off all the lights.. like it’s not even time to close?? I just don’t understand why “she doesn’t have time for this” it’s her job, and my friends son was in the back freaking hungry and this happens. I will never come back here. This place needs shut down for real. And let me add they are most...
Read moreFood is good, but unfortunately on this visit a car at the head of the line ordered $100+ of food and the rest of us - about 8 cars, had to wait (trapped by cars ahead and behind us).
If you've ever wondered why McDonalds has you pull out of line to wait for an order that may take an extra few minutes, tonight I learned why Burger King is not winning the burger war.
When the manager explained why we had to wait, I immediately thought of three explanations (probably not in the training or protocol manuals) of how he could have handled this better.
Easy fix. Have the large order car pull around and wait in the parking lot.
Have an employee walk back and tell everyone what was happening - while apologizing profusely.
Give everyone who waited a discount on their order - or an extra free item.
Apologize profusely when we finally did get our order and put a free order of fries in the bag.
Tell people, when they place their order that there would be a delay and suggest they go to a competitor. (Yes, this would build loyalty for BK)
I could keep going, but I'll stop here. Managers should be empowered to break rules and create solutions on the spot. But solutions 1 & 2 are no cost and quite easy.
Of course this was a one off problem, but I'm certain this isn't the only time a BK store has...
