Subway — Restaurant in Portland

I am extremely displeased with the service I got this morning. First of all the "Open" sign wasn't even turned on for the store. I had no idea if they were even open. I saw a person walking around inside, so I just walked up to the door and it was unlocked. I let the person working know. I ordered a sandwich and went through the entire process. I attempted to pay with my subway gift card I got for Christmas that I have $15 on. The machine wasn't working , it wasn't connecting to the internet. I let the worker know that I had the money on the card since it was brand new. I said if there was no way to process it I couldn't get the sandwich. I walked out of the store and then walked back in after leaving and asked if the worker could call the manager to see if there was anything else she could do. It was taking so long that I couldn't wait any longer and had to go to work. This was going to be my lunch. I have made the conscious decision to start going to Jersey Mikes recently and thought since I had the gift card that I would give Subway another chance but this has closed the door for Subway and I...

I love this subway! I worked there for over two years and let me tell you I know how clean and friendly the store and staff where then!! For the person who was irritated that they were closed for a few days for family issues how about you meant what happened. The wonder passed away at the age of 30 and they choose to close the store for a couple days so the workers who were all very close to the owner could Mourn! But way to go for being quick to judge!! Maybe right now the service isn't at its too notch but they are all going through a lot because the owner wasn't only their boss but also a friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand and always there to help everyone out. This Subway is the worst... I work nearby and have stopped a couple of times around 7:30 for breakfast (they are supposed to open at 7am) and it's dark, closed, and there's no one in site. I went this morning for breakfast and got an egg and cheese sandwich. For starters, they were out of egg white. Then looking at the bar, they had almost nothing out. Just a few meats and cheeses. Keep in mind this is 8:30 and they've supposedly been open for an hour and a half. This guy was really nice, but man he was terrible at making sandwiches. Just a comedy of errors. I think he was struggling to hear me so I don't want to be too knit picky, but by the time I bit into this mess, 5 minutes later, the egg was still frozen and the cheese wasn't melted at all.
