Totally Awesome Vegan Food Truck — Restaurant in Portland

As a non-vegetarian who grew up in a vegan household, I have done my paces and tried more varieties of vegan food than most while having a unique perspective as a regular meat eater.

Nowadays, my significant other is vegan and she was a tenacious follower of Totally Awesome before they were even on the road. We have since visited them somewhere near a dozen times and not once have we been even marginally disappointed.

Not only is Totally Awesome some of the best vegan food I've had, it is some of the best Food I've had; no qualifier necessary.

While you can't go wrong with anything on their menu their cheesy bacon fries are a true standout as one of my favourite vegan treats ever.

'Cheese' sauce made from carrots and potatoes and housemade tempeh 'bacon' (the best faux bacon I've ever had at that). It has to be had to be understood and trust me, you want to understand.

My family and I were on a bike ride when we happened to stumble onto this food truck, and boy were we lucky! I have severe allergies to dairy and egg and I didn't have to worry about them at all here. It was amazingly easy to get food that tasted great and was 100% safe for me to eat (no concerns about cross contamination either!). I got the cinnamon bun and my mom got the fries with what I refer to as "fakin bacon" and mayonnaise. I was blown away by it all. My dad even gave the cinnamon bun the "tastes just like!" stamp of approval. And the fries were simply to die for. (I definitely recommend dipping the bacon in the mayo). We love the Totally Awesome Vegan Food Truck! We've been going to the food truck since its inception. It has been a weekly date for my husband and I...sometimes more than one date a week to visit Tony and Coleen! They are two of the nicest people, and so is their family who sometimes helps out on the truck! Having a customer service/ food service background I would definitely go out of my way to give patronage to an establishment with excellent customer service, but we are also lucky because TAVFT has amazing vegan food too(and we would know-we love to eat!!)! We've tried everything on the menu and have never been disappointed! We are wicked glad that this food truck exists, as well as the people who run it. Thank you Tony...
