
Hockey here is as good as it gets in Maine. They offer a ton of different programs for kids, and have recently had much success with an adult beginner learn-to-play hockey program that has forayed into a beginner's adult "C" league. The coaching staff here want to see skaters succeed.
The public skate sessions are usually very relaxed and fun, save for when you get a few kids who don't follow rules, but that's going to happen anywhere. People who complain about parking are probably dealing with peak hours and don't realize there is a whole other parking lot behind the rink that can be used. It's not rink exclusive like the row immediately in front of the building, but there's usually spots there. I have been skating there for several months and going during peak hours, and never once have had to park on the street or go pay for parking somewhere.

They have made a lot of progress in a month because the instructors are so good. They teach great skating fundamentals for beginners and really take the time and do small groups. At any given time, the really novice skaters are in a group with just one or two others....its almost like one on one lessons. Read moreSon and great-granddaughter and I had a really good time. It was not as cold as I expected which was good the skates or fairly new and nice and sharp and comfortable on the feet. Everybody seem to be having a good time the help was very pleasant and I had gotten a Groupon for about half price on top of everything so yeah nice way to spend a couple hours on a Saturday afternoon.
