Five boroughs is a big name to live up to, as someone from NY.. when I was looking for food I got excited. My thought process was “this is going to go one of two ways- They’ve got too much variety on their menu, I bet the quality is low I really hope the owner is a true New Yorker and this place is the bomb. Dot. Com
Unfortunately my first thought was correct.
The ac is not strong enough to combat to pizza ovens so it’s probably 80° in the restaurant
Maybe it’s just my years of experience, but I have never had a Stromboli that tasted like they used to deli pepperoni instead of dry /cured pepperoni(average/normal pepperoni)- 100% alters the flavor. And if it wasn’t deli pepperoni, then I’m lost in the sauce. But the flavor was.. different
The garlic knots were brushed in butter, garnished in parsley, grated parm and garlic powder. The knot itself did not have flavor. - Good crunch:soft ratio though, just not quite there.
I didn’t use the restroom, but my partner did and this is what she said: Disgusting bathroom, dirty floors, hand soap in a kitchen sauce bottle, I’ve never seen soap appear old before… but there’s a first for everything.
5: The marinara wasn’t very flavorful, and very liquidy, almost as if cut with water or something... maybe it was a fresh can.. or the end of one.
I don’t do reviews… EVER but I just got out of a medical procedure and really wanted food… this was not the place. The pizza looked alright for NY style, the sub rolls looked okay. My Stromboli was melted all the way through, so that was nice. I just feel like if you’re going to rep the five boroughs you should at least get the dough from one of them. I’ve worked in plenty of restaurants that overnight frozen dough once or twice a month… there is and never will be anything quite like it.

Read moreThe manager was extremely rude. I tried to cancel an order via phone, she told me do it online (there’s no option to do so online) so I called back & she canceled the call on me. It was a pick-up order so I went in-person to cancel it and the manager flat out lied to my face saying my order was delivered to my house when it was sitting on the heating cabinet behind her. I showed her the restaurant’s online refund policy, but she simply CLOCKED OUT and left the restaurant w/o giving me the food or a refund. Her nice chef did try to help the situation by apologizing for her behavior & telling us to take the pizza & still dispute the charge w the bank since we were wrongfully denied a refund. Then the restaurant rejected the dispute. I’ve never complained on google reviews or any restaurant review page before, but is the most abhorrent experience I’ve ever had anywhere. I can’t believe this place is open if they operate with such lack of customer service
Edit: After rejecting my dispute charge, I think they finally realized I was serious about the dispute & had submitted photo evidence of the restaurant policy & order to my bank. The next day after the rejection, they retracted their statement & refunded me. My bank says they accepted the refund “after seeing the documentation provided” meaning if I hadn’t sent them THEIR OWN refund policy, they still woulda stole my money. So bad newa, they will try to steal your money, but good news, if you actually call them out on the bs, you can get refunded and never deal with...
Read moreWe are frequent at this restaurant. (or we were, I don't think I will come back again)... They let me wait 30 minutes longer than the amount they supposed to prepare the food(it was already 45 minutes). I had to wait inside, I wish I ordered in person, at least I wouldn't pay extra commission for Slice app... We ordered by using the "Slice App" The guy (he was working at the register) was preparing the same food (Lamb Shawarma Platter) and saying it was not mine and then by the time he prepared my food, the first food was still sitting there, I could not see any logic in this. We ordered 2 Lamb Shawarma wrap 1 Lamb Shawarma Platter and a large pizza. Pizza was extremely cold. The thin tall guy who was cooking the meat dropped half of the meat on the floor and they didn't compensate it even I mentioned that. The guy at the register acted like we did not order the pizza, I asked my husband to screen capture the order and send it to me. The person who is working at the register was also putting the salad etc (other than meat) in the boxes, he was working without gloves when he was putting the salad and hummus in the box, then he put some gloves later. They said they were short staffed, it should not be a reason for being sloppy for preparing the food. If you don't have enough personnel just close it...
