Wawa — Restaurant in Portsmouth

Foremost I love that we have a new Wawa in our neighborhood. The issue is that Service is horrible in the food dept. I work late evening nights nearby. When on my way to work and on lunch breaks, I frequent this location due to the convenience I no longer have to travel distance for the nearest Wawa.. The first week of opening, things were great and always available when coming for the items I favor on the menu. As of recent days, when I come for a dragon fruit Red Bull chiller, I have noticed select menus were not online such as the drinks (DRINKS!?). The only thing that was offered was coffee and a cookie milkshake. I asked about the other products and was told that they did not have the ingredients ok... But as days went on, it became repetitive, the same issue. But only to find that they were actually stocked with the ingredients but shut the drink station down because of lack of staff. If serving the public, you are open to serve the customers, but at particular hours those who are coming or going to work aren't given the same service and benefit in the evenings. This is ridiculous, and a disappoint. Wawa is supposed to be a 24hr convenience for all customers. I'm sure 7eleven is accruing all the food sales at this point.

A shame to see this WaWa’s rating weighed down by so many negative reviews from people disappointed in a sandwich order.

I live and work downtown and go to this Wawa a few times a week for convenience items and the occasional breakfast or lunch. Their grab and go breakfast is fantastic when I’m short on time in the morning. Consistent quality and great selection on par or better than most fast food breakfast. Made to order food items are what you expect for this kind of quick service but I’ve never had quality or accuracy issues.

They have a great selection of food and snacks and surprisingly good craft/corporate-craft beer options in the walk in cooler. It’s always clean inside and the self checkout is super convenient.

What makes this WaWa really stand out to me is their incredible staff! A number of people have been there since they day they opened - rare for any retail - and seem to genuinely enjoy their job. Shoutout to Yolanda in particular who is there most mornings and always has a smile no matter what time it is or how busy it may be.

THE SHREWD MANAGER wawa workers in control once you place your order it's time to pay then Wawa"s staff do their thang . Because they didn't put the milkshake with the order I had to comeback to Portsmouth to get it and that cost me another extra toll the black manager on shift whom I called and spoke to about the situation before turning back was very unfriendly & unapologetic and never made eye contact with me but gave me my money back. I could see the milkshake had been made it was still sitting where they left it. The manager name was Latesha. She had no empathy for costing me a extra tunnel toll . Never said a word. She lack skills in handling situations like that. She was unfriendly and cold. I'll stick to Wawa on Fredick Blvd where the staff is much friendlier. Send Latesha to the corner store where managing like that will blend in NOT Wawa.Im telling all my family and friends to NEVER EVER give me a Wawa gift card again in life. Only good for gas that way you don't interact with people to even endure...
