Mugsy's — Restaurant in Post Falls

I loved going to this place for my Blu Raz watermelon pink lotus and a cup of ice. I was a regular until one day, the day before I got paid, I went there I had enough only for my drinks on my debit card. No tip on card. I gave them a $3.50 cash tip. But when I signed my receipt I left the tip part blank. Bad move on my part. The transaction went thru no problem I put the cash tip in the jar. Got my drinks and headed off to work. If you go to mugsys often, you will know that at the end of the night is when they charge your card for tips and it will adjust accordingly. So later on that night I get the finalized transaction and it had a tip added to it which overdrafted my account the cost of the transaction and now the new tip added on top and a $35 overdraft fee. Needless to say I was mad as hell. So I waited to call first thing in the morning and speak to the manager or owner about it and the lady that answered said she was the manager I explained what happened and she said that she had done it by mistake and would return the money immediately and she did. But only the money she took. I still had the overdraft fee charged to my account. And she rushed me off the phone not letting me speak to the owner. And she said things like, " it was a mistake and I returned the money so we were good, I gave you your money back." And then hung up. I never have been able to get ahold of the owner and it's frustrating because I've been consistently going there and paying with a card and gave cash tips often. Or just cash or just card. I never really paid to close attention before to their transactions because I had more money in my account and built a repore and trusted them. And I believe that the only reason she got caught because of the balance being just enough to pay for the drinks. So when she ran it she thinking she can just charge a few bucks and no one would notice. I wouldn't notice. I feel like she has been doing it for a while. Everywhere else in the world know the word for what she did. Stealing. She stole money from me and that's against the law. But apparently she's above it because she gave back the 3 dollars that she skimmed out of my account. I'm disgusted with her. I'm angry at the owner as well because they arent isnt reachable to have a conversation about what happened. I ended up just paying the $35 dollar overdraft fee myself and started going to other places. I live off of tips myself at the 2 jobs I work at but I tell you what I have never even thought to harm any of my customers like that. It's not ok. And she should be ashamed of herself. And if the owner sees this, they need to do something about it, because how many other people has this "manager" skimmed accounts and stolen from and gotten away with it? For the last 6 months Mugsy’s and their staff have become part of the day to day whether it is a jump start to the morning or a much needed pick me up in the afternoon. Regardless of the time the experience has always been on point. After the 3rd visit my drink was remembered without asking; but always confirmed if I might switch it up. The staff is gregarious in their personality and genuine in their greetings. And the drink is consistent in flavor and temperature 👍.

Today’s experience is was what truly sets a business apart from the competitors. Car in front of me had ordered over 10 drinks. (No worries, if you don’t have patience caffeine probably isn’t something you should have in your diet 😂.). When the other window was clear the staff not acknowledge the cars waiting in line but came out to take orders and walked out with my coffee.

So impressed by the people and the product! Big fan of their breakfast burritos—I could eat them 7 days a week. Tried many from different stands in the area and these are by far the best. I get the same drink every time and I can recall 5 different gals who have made it for me—always comes out perfect which shows consistency and proper training. I think her name is Jade (?) always remembers my order.

Having worked as a barista myself, its clear any negative reviews for this place are clearly made by people who just didn’t know how to order properly. Side note: anyone complaining about prices and fluctuation, welcome to inflation. If you’re driving through coffee stands, you can afford the prices. If funds are really that tight, coffee is probably the first place you should cut back. Their rates here are fair.
