Jack Cassidy's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Pottstown

My husband and I tried Cassidy's last night for the first time. It was a Monday night and not very crowded so it's hard to judge the service on a Friday or Saturday night. My husband ordered Fish and Chips and I ordered a Cheese Steak. Or order came out hot and delicious. The Fish was very crispy and the fries were cooked to perfection. My Cheese Steak was very good, probably one of the best outside of South Philly. They could provide hot peppers for the Steak Sandwich but that was only a minor disappointment and I won't hold it against them. The atmosphere is typical of an Irish Pub and they had a nice variety of tab beer at excellent prices. I will definitely go again and may make this a regular haunt. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was a Monday night, I will reserve the 5th star for after a visit...

9/10 times always bring a sweater/jacket/hoodie. I rarely get cold, but they're blasting the AC whether it's summer or winter. Prices have increased since last year, and the wings aren't as large. Ordered the Jack Cassidy fries and they were cold with almost burnt cheese on them. The wings were crispy, hot, and they brought an extra cup of sauce out. It's always hit or miss whether the food/service will be good. They took our drinks to get refilled and never brought them back. I had to go up to the bar and ask for them back over 20 minutes later despite the place being almost empty that day. Again, completely hit or miss on the food/service you'll receive it's never consistently good nor bad. Pictures posted are from when the prior visits...

Went to Jacks tonight... Horribly slow service, we had to ask for menus after a few mins. My table waited OVER AN HOUR for our food and when we finally got something it was just our app, which was not what we had ordered but a different one. Food finally came out and wings were cold and overcooked. Surprise - fries came out too late just as we were finishing wings and were overcooked. We were not the only table that was unhappy, two others around us got up and left before the food even came out because they waited so long.

A few months ago I wrote a pretty good review for this place. Sad to say, I had to replace it with this one as the negatives severely outweighed...
