My girlfriend and I were hungry and decided to try this restaurant based on the good reviews. Originally from the southwest I’ve had lots of experience with Mexican cuisine. Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly host and server who quickly took our order after being seated. No problems so far. I myself got the chicken burrito combo with rice and beans and of course we received a complimentary side of chips and salsa. This is where things started to go downhill, first off the food prices are quite high, the most expensive Mexican restaurant I’ve been to outside of a major metropolitan area such as Seattle. Despite the high prices we gave it a shot, once our food arrived we immediately noticed the lack of flavor before even tasting the food. Not much seasoning or spices, just a basic burrito with shredded chicken inside and some cheese on top. The burrito did seem more like a wet burrito which I believe was from the chicken juices (usually a good sign) however the flavor of the chicken just seemed off. I can’t even explain what kind of flavor it was but not like any flavor I’ve tasted before for basically plain chicken and cheese. Between my girlfriend’s enchiladas with green sauce, the salsa, and my entire plate I’ve had more flavor from Taco Bell or even small town midwestern Mexican cuisine which is far from authentic. Every time we took a bite it was pure disappointment and didn’t even finish our left overs we took home. I just simply couldn’t do it and I’m not too picky with my food. I just know I personally could and have made a more flavorful burrito at home. I also got a Pina Colada which was quite good but that was about it in terms of flavor.
Besides the food having no/off flavor the hard working employees were very nice, if it wasn’t for that I would be giving this place 1 star.
All in all it really wasn’t worth the $60 we paid for the quality of food.. I would have rather saved $30-$40 and went to a fast food style Mexican restaurant. If you are set on trying this establishment don’t order the burrito or...
Read moreHmmm... what can I say about Mezcalitos. 🤔 Well, it was expensive. The steak was perfectly seasoned and done just right. The shrimp on my dish were ok. Needed more flavor. Maybe it was because after we tasted the steak, everything else was bland tasting. The beans and rice weren't hot enough but I think that maybe it had been sitting in the service window for a min. The margaritas flights ? 👎 and I'll tell u why. (Because it's why I'm here, doing this thing )Don't get me wrong. The alcohol to size ratio was spot on. But the flavor wasn't there for any of them except the mango one. And I don't even like mango flavor necessarily. I love watermelon but not in this margarita. Amd the blackberry was not even close to resembling that flavor. I was so sad about that. And not to mention they were $22.00 for the cheap one? When all together it is about as much actual liquid as a whole regular sized margarita.. but my server was awesome. And the owner ? Manager guy? Amazing. We were out of chips and he was all over it ! Bam! Here's some more chips. Smiling. Everyone was smiling. But for $100.00 dinner ? I probably won't be back there. Also the tequila flights poured water all over your shirt when you took a drink of them. So ya. Not trying to ruin a nice shirt when I'm out on a date. But all in all I give it a 3. It wasn't anything to write home about. Buy did I tell u ? That steak...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of town and decided to stop here to eat. Servers are friendly and attentive but food was bland. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had the carnitas tacos. No seasoning is added to the meat on either making a pretty bland dish although they do make a decent salsa. Beans and rice were also tasteless wirh the beans being on the runny side. The other couple we were with ordered the Fajita sampler which was flavorless with way too many carrots. The carrots were near raw and the meat was dry and overcooked with no seasoning. Drinks were another matter. Both guys ordered double rum and coke, (it was quite dark, pure soda syrup, very little fizz and no rum) they insisted it had some in it but me, as a person who dislikes rum and can taste and smell it in a heartbeat, could not detect any. They did nothing to correct the situation. Us girls ordered wine which was a 4 oz pour at best but the table behind us had generously filled glasses at least double ours. There were a couple good things: Their complimentary chips are phenomenal as well as the guacamole prepared tableside. The best guacamole ever! Unfortunately, that is not enough to have...
