Duck Donuts — Restaurant in Prairie Village

My girlfriend and I came here for a relaxing Sunday morning coffee and donut date but instead were greeted with a plethora of failures on the part of the Duck Donuts managerial staff. We ordered a custom half dozen and two cookie butter lattes. The cashier had no idea how to find the lattes on the register but was eventually helped by co-workers. We then waited approximately 30 minutes for our donuts, and after approximately 50 minutes finally received our two lattes. It was evident that the staff that were working were trying their best, but ultimately had no idea how to make a latte and were asking each other for help. The floor and tables were filthy and one of the staff was often sitting on the counter with his butt next to where food is located. Our lattes were not drinkable and were ultimately thrown away. We didn’t bother with a refund because we were confident staff wouldn’t know how to do it and we just wanted to leave. When training is subpar, the service and quality is subpar. We would love to go to Duck Donuts again, but it will most definitely not be at...

After hitting up the OG Duck donuts in Duck, NC we figured we'd taste up the same locally.

I'll start with the positive, the donuts tasted great and that's all that should matter. We weren't able to checkout on the screen and had to go up to the counter and reorder, but they got our order right (it was a complicated order as the kids wanted every single sprinkle and drizzle under the sun 😂).

None of the tables were clean and I feel the kids behind the counter didn't care much. There was no adult supervision and only one guy making all the orders. I'm sure he'd have appreciated some help. Tables were not cleaned until another associate showed up, who seemed to be more inclined to customer service.

With that said, it's a spacious store and they have seating outside. The bathrooms were clean (trust me, you'll need to wash your hands after these donuts - a good problem to have).

We were exploring some new areas in the KC area and drive by Duck Donuts. Out of curiosity I decided to see what a Duck donut is.

Upon entering we were welcomed in and the great staff gave us the run down on how to order donuts that are made to order. That’s right made after you order it.

The menu choices were wide and varied with toppings I had never even thought of. I settled in on a Maple topping with fresh cooked bacon bits.

I could see the donut being freshly made and then it was off to the topping area of the kitchen. Order to in hand time was surprisingly quick. My donut was warm, and the maple frosting was fresh and aromatic. The bacons bits were crispy, plentiful, and by now I was almost drooling.

First bite to last was like a party on the palate. It was amazing and I will definitely be back every time we are...
