Meddy's is newly opened elevate fast casual in Corinth Quarter and I'm hoping for all the success for them! The food was fresh, there was great variety, the staff are helpful, and the space is gorgeous!
We went during the soft opening and decided to try a variety of dishes. We ended up starting with some fresh pita that they brought to the table after we ordered; it pairs with olive oil and zatar seasoning at the table. We also ordered hummus with pita bread and chips (loved the variety and ability to choose both!). The hummus is super creamy and smooth, and the serving was generous for just my husband and I.
For mains, we split a bowl and a shawarma wrap. Our bowl we opted for a mixed base of rice and roasted veggies; the veggie blend was a solid mix of squash, cauliflower, potato, and onion. We had chicken on top, along with the sauce and tomato. Very flavorful and very fresh. We had the lamb shawarma and it was amazing - the only complaint was that it didn't have a sauce inside it. However, it was easily remedied with some self serve sauces -- a garlic aioli type sauce and a roasted red pepper sauce. We got a side of fries, but there were plenty of other options available too.
We can't speak to the bar quite yet, but plan on trying some of the cocktails during a future visit (because we definitely plan on going back for more!)
The staff were so friendly! They checked in on us several times, brought our food out quickly, picked up dishes, and refilled our soft drinks throughout our lunch.
Inside is absolutely gorgeous. There's ton of green and natural light; despite the greenery being fake, it really adds a beautiful pop of color to the space that just elevates it. Lots of seating options for a variety of groups, including tables, hightops, and bar seating.
The patio is heated! There were overhead heaters and towers to help keep the patio nice and toasty during these colder winter months. There's also TVs for your...
Read moreThis was our first time at Meddy’s. This location completely blew me away. We were greeted right away by the counter staff who was very friendly. The staff was incredibly helpful in understanding the menu & gave excellent recommendations. We ordered and tried to seat ourselves in the dining area but the place was so packed we resorted to the outside dining area which to our surprise turned out to be the best option! There was live music & the area was beautifully shaded & the large ceiling fans created the most amazing breeze. It was absolutely stunning for a hot July evening, the music and cool breeze made the atmosphere perfect. Once seated the lovely server brought around some bread and continued to bring the complementary bread to our table throughout the time we were there. At the table there was olive oil and a jar of seasoning blend to dip the bread in. The food was brought out quickly and hot! Each dish was phenomenal. We could taste the freshness of each of the ingredients, and all the flavors just mixed together so well. We got the kids chicken bowl, the chicken mixed plate with tabouli, the lamb mixed plate with hummus, and the lamb shwarmbaa. Everything single item was top notch. My personal favorite things were the addition of the cilantro salad and the white garlic sauce under the chicken. Service was fast, friendly, and so helpful. Atmosphere was great, clean, nice, and the live music was a great addition. The food was astoundingly delicious. It was all so incredible & we will...
Read moreI am handicapped and walk with two canes. I cannot stand any longer than 10 minutes due to pain. I went tonight around 5:00pm to use a gift certificate that was given to me, and there were 5 people ahead of me in line. There was one cashier, and it took what seemed like 20 minutes for my turn, but it may have been less since I was in pain from standing in line and no place to sit.
Most places I eat will pull me out of the line and take my order so I do not have to stand and wait. Or, they will have an area to sit and wait until it is my turn, but Meddys did not have anyplace to sit while waiting in line.
I used to work in retail, and our policy was that if there were more than 3 people in line, we had to open another register. There were two additional registers not being used at Meddys when I went.
I voiced my concerns to the person who took my order, and later to the manager. Although the manager was kind and listened, she indicated that it was not their policy to pull handicapped people with canes out of the line so they didn't have to stand and wait even when they were busy, nor did they have the policy to open another register if more than 3 people were waiting in line.
Also, I was never given a receipt with the amount I spent on my meal.
The food may be good, but it is their loss. I will not be coming back after the gift certificate has been used up, and I may even give my gift certificate to someone else who is not handicapped and has the stamina to stand in...
