Meghan and her shop are truly amazing. I came in to get my first ever bra fitting at the age of 30 and cannot wait to go back.
The main focus on why I've waited so long to get a proper fitting: pectus excavatum, inverted sternum, barrel-chest, etc. I've had it since childhood and once puberty hit, going to a shop to buy bras was a nightmare. Aside from crippling embarrassment because of how dramatic my ribs looked when I was younger and thinner, I'd still attempt to buy items at places like Aerie or big-box stores, with the attendants visually estimating my size after after I explained my problems.
But they were never right: the gore never would set correct, my breasts would never fill the cup correctly (even when they had me in the most padded things the offered), the band would slip over my breasts the second I raised my arms, etc. I gave up and stuck to somewhat bearable cotton sports bras with the loosest fit I could find that would drown me in fabric and made my body a sweaty mess.
I always felt frumpy because I had so many issues compounding each other: the inverted sternum, my breasts being very bottom heavy and shallow on top, fluctuating weight and sweating problems due to medications I have to take, my intense sensory issues to certain fabrics, and every other thing that made it feel like a hindrance to be in my body.
After ignoring it for the past 15 years or so, I finally said enough and looked up shops near me that had options for different body types and inclusive sizing. Which had me meeting Meghan and the staff at Circadian Intimates for the first time and finally feeling seen.
I explained my issues to Meghan with a little apprehension, but not only did she immediately know the condition I talked about (inverted sternum), she said she had actual options for all the other issues I had on top that. Sweaty? No prob, something cooling or mesh, plus we can always use Dimmers. Cup size never filled? No problem, we just need to find the right padding shape and seam placement. Always feeling like you can't breathe from band size? No problem at all, we have stretchier and larger bands with smaller cups in shop to size right. I had options and finally was told my size was a 40 B.
I truly cannot put into words the relief and joy I got from my experience here, as someone who had honestly given up on my breasts and that I was always going to be a moderate amount of uncomfortable in whatever I was wearing. At this point, I'm a customer for life and definitely want anyone who feels the same to come here and let them work...
Read moreI had an amazing experience this evening with Mary Jane, I will absolutely be back and will send as many people her way as I can. She was so exceptionally helpful in finding the right styles for my shape and did so in such a knowledgeable, kind, and courteous way.
I've had enough unfortunate bra fitting experiences elsewhere that I admittedly went into it a little bit hesitant, but the store as a whole is very much the opposite of every other "professional" fitting I've had in the past. This is the first fitting I've had that I would consider /actually/ professional, with a true understanding of what they're selling as well as a friendly and supportive rapport with customers.
I had originally just gone to check a new store out and see if they were actually as well stocked as it seemed on the website (spoiler: they totally are). However, after spending some time talking with Mary Jane about my situation, past experiences, and bras in general, a brand I had good experiences with previously with caught my eye. I went from "I'll just try this one on" to a full blown fitting, and cannot overstate how great it was. As someone who has previously only been able to buy their bras online, I'm fairly well versed in how bras are supposed to fit, though I certainly do not presume to know everything. She did a great job of balancing excellent recommendations with respecting what I already knew and what I was looking for, rather than trying to push me one way or another.
Although I didn't end up leaving with anything today due to unrelated reasons, I will absolutely be back, probably sooner than later. I cannot recommend Mary Jane (or the store) enough. If I could give six stars, I would do so in a heartbeat.
Update: it's stuck in my head so well since Wednesday that I went back today (Saturday) to snag the best fit that Mary Jane and I had found earlier this week. I didn't manage to snag the name of the associate that was working this evening, but she was also super kind...
Read moreThe team at Circadian Intimates is absolutely first class. They stepped up and went way above and beyond to help out my daughter. We live in Illinois and we're traveling to Overland Park to attend a Cheerleading Clinic at a local college. 3 hours into out drove we realized that my daughter left her sportsbra at home. Now if you have a large chested wife or daughter you will immediately understand the angst of this situation. We can't just go to any store to buy a new bra. My wife immediately jumped on Google and found Circadian Intimates. She called and spoke to Megan. Megan was able to find the bra we needed but unfortunately Circadian Intimates closed at 6PM and we wouldn't arrive until 11PM. To make it more difficult they didn't open until noon on Sunday and we had to be at the clinic at noon. That is when Emily and Megan saved the day. Emily decided that she would drop off the bra to our Hotel on Sunday morning. I can't express my gratitude for this. They put my wife and my daughter at ease, completely destressing the situation. Thank...
