I am not a person who likes to complain a lot but what I seen this weekend really upset my girlfriend and I. We were headed back to Mobile from Bham and decided to check out this little pizza place in Prattville. Their food looked really good so we took a small detour about 15 mins away. We were sat down in the bar area to eat. I noticed a gentleman sitting at a high table drinking a soda, had a beer and eating pizza. He sat there quietly eating his meal and accidentally knocked over his beer. I could tell he was a bit upset and embarrassed that this happened. At this point we were already eating out food and my girlfriend asked me is anyone going to help him? She handed me a hand full of napkins and told me to give them to him and see if that will help since no one had stopped after 4 employees passed him including the manager, he was right next to the walkway from the bar to the other area so it's not like they couldn't see he was in distress. They also weren't that busy and they weren't short staffed by no means. He was standing up at this point trying to clean up what he could. It had already been about 15 mins. At this point the manager brought out those small orange cones and sets 3 of them out. No wet floor sign just orange cones. That upset us as well. His waitress was working the bar and was super busy and she didn't even see what happened. We asked for the mans check and I asked for the manager and asked if he would sit down and speak with us for a couple mins. After introducing myself and explaining what happened he said he would have a staff meeting and didn't even tell me his name or offer to pay for the mans food that was ruined by his beer. The man quit eating after it happened and covered his food and ran to the bathroom. At that point we were upset, the waitress comes to see what's wrong and she proceeds to tell us that the man is a local and and a regular and has Parkinson's!!! My girlfriend said to the manager I bet if I spilled my drink y'all would have came running and at that point he said your right. The manager didn't seem the least bit concerned and after everything was said and done not a single person checked on that man to make sure he was ok or if they could get him a fresh beer or comp his food. We paid for that mans food at least maybe he will know there is some humanity left in this cruel world. As we were leaving the man was standing outside and I went to check on him to make sure he was ok. We will never be back and this story isn't to dog the company this is to bring awareness to our elderly and disabled. What I seen that day left a bad taste...
Read moreWhen we first got there (11:30 a.m.), there was a woman working behind the coffee counter on the phone who just looked pissed off to be there... anyway, We (a party of two) were walked back to an almost empty room and sat at their two-seater tables, which were so uncomfortably small that I had to hold my purse in my lap the whole time. Our waitress was a younger girl (blonde with glasses, dark makeup) – she seemed like she hated being there, but if all of my coworkers acted like that, it would probably affect my mood too! She did the bare minimum, with nothing too remarkable about the customer service. The angry coffee woman from earlier brought us our pizzas and looked pissed that she had to do that, too. While we waited to eat, we watched the host (the only guy employee I saw, I think) desperately try to seat all of the couples coming in at the two-seater tables lining the back of the room in the dark (like where the unwanted stepchildren go), while the rest of the tables and booths in the building were empty. He finally gave up and sat a couple at a regular table because everywhere else (the two-seater tables and weird half-booth things) was full. I guess he was anticipating a lunch rush, but when it finally happened, they all got placed in the back because their party was too large for the booths/tables. We ordered an appetizer, which was good, and both got a medium pizza. The pizza was good, a little greasy, but we liked that it was "homemade" and not from a chain. The price was a little high, but we both left with half a pizza leftover, so I guess we technically paid for two meals out of it... Also, what the hell is their menu? This was one of the most confusing menus I've ever seen... BTW...
Read moremy wife and I stopped there for my birthday. We have long been customers of Fox's Pizza den, but over the last 6 months or so the experience has just gone way downhill.. lately the servers seem to be less worried about serving and less thrilled to do so than they used to be. I don't know if that's because they feel the atmosphere changing there or not, but we certainly have.
When we tried to go they had plenty of open booths available but refused to sit us at a booth. They offered to sit us in the bar at a high top but as I said it was my birthday and I was now feeling like I was too old to be doing that. They also offered us a little two seat table right in the middle of the restaurant and the walkway areas. Not really sure that was the atmosphere I wanted. Even the hostess said it wasn't a great table. But yet they refuse to see us at a booth. Apparently our money is not as good as it would have been if we had kids with us or friends. We finally opted to order a pizza and take it home so we could at least enjoy it in a comfortable setting. The pizza was slightly undercooked as it has been lately and very soft. I don't know who sliced the pizza but I feel like geometry and fractions was not their strong suit. I got a piece of pizza about half the size of one of my hands, and I don't have big hands.
We have had issues with the pizza and the booth thing several times now and my wife and I have decided we just don't need to go back. I would not recommend it to anybody. It really kind of hurts to say that because we used to really like it there. It used to be our favorite pizza place and probably one of our favorite restaurants in town. Guess it's Marcos...
