The Waffle Place — Restaurant in Prescott

We were a big party with a dog, which they offered outside seating to accommodate at 2 person tables, so we had to split up. Not that big of a deal, but we had 2 babies with us and I had to get our highchairs after waiting 5 minutes for them (the 4 other kids were able to go to the bathroom and come back). The food was disappointing. When we were asked about drinks we said water to start for everyone and coffee for the 3 adults. The coffee was disappointing, very watered down, in tiny mugs. The kids ordered chocolate pancakes, which were described in the menu as having the chocolate chips cooked inside, but when they arrived they were just plain pancakes with a couple handfuls of chocolate chips thrown on top. One of the kids didn't like sausage, and asked for bacon instead, and it was as if she asked for something crazy and it was not an option to replace bacon for the sausage. And between 3 kids and 2 adults that ordered pancakes or waffles we were given 3 small plastic cups with syrup. The child wanted more bacon and was then brought a plate of like 10 pieces of bacon. The service was really slow for how few tables were filled. It was so slow that another table was able to get up and walk out without paying and were long gone before it was noticed. They only accept cash and have an ATM inside to get cash from for a small fee, but I'm not sure they advertise this. When asked about this they said, "we've been in business for 30 years and never accepted anything but cash." I wouldn't recommend this place. It was clean, did what they could to accommodate our group, but from the disappointing food to the slow service I can't give it any more...

If you haven't been to waffles and more, you are really really missing out! The food here is by far the best in Prescott for breakfast or lunch hands down. It doesn't matter what you're in the mood for, a light breakfast, a good hearty meal, a quick bite, are the best darn hamburger you've ever tried, this is the One Stop Shop! It doesn't matter what you order, I guarantee you it will Delight your taste buds like you can't believe! They have it all, wonderful waffles, buckwheat waffles and you can top it with every fruit imaginable, whipped cream, or just whipped butter, every flavor of syrup your little heart could desire! Or if you want french toast, or bacon and eggs, and if you love ham? They have the best bone-in ham it is so amazing! If you're in the mood for something lights try the yogurt and granola and fruit, or classic oatmeal including brown sugar and raisins that tickles your fancy, fresh squeezed orange juice? Yep they have it here! If you're here for lunch can't go wrong there either. The best hamburgers, BLTs, for a club sandwich? Best you'll ever have! Doesn't matter whether you're in the mood for French fries, onion rings, cottage cheese? They have it all! The owners are great, the ambiance wonderful, delightfully decorated, all of the staff amazingly friendly. In short, if you haven't been here, get here fast you're missing out! We walked in and the place was hopping. The hostess said it would be a 20 minute wait. Add a few extra minutes because we asked to be seated in a certain servers section. A hour later we asked why the whole building and even new customers had been seated yet we were still waiting. The hostess said the next table was ours after we had to point out that our name had been on the top of her list for some time. She then proceeded to seat 3 more parties that had only just walked in and told us it would be an hour longer wait. When we saw the last party she sat it happened to be in the section that we requested. Then in the same section other parties that were seated while we continued to wait. There was no manager on site. The hostess had no clue what she was doing. And the owner was nowhere in sight either. Poor training, poor customer service skills, and poor communication skills had us walking out in search of a meal that wouldn't take 2 hours of...
