I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aspendos Mediterranean Cuisine, and I must say it was a remarkable experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately transported me to the beautiful shores of the Mediterranean.

As a lover of Mediterranean cuisine, I was thrilled to see classic favorites such as hummus, Tirit, and ovens on the menu, along with some unique and innovative creations that showcased the chef's talent and creativity.

I started my culinary journey with a mezze platter that featured a delightful assortment of appetizers, including dry smoked tzatziki, Nazuktan(best), and Pan Fried Potatoes. Each bite was a harmonious blend of fresh ingredients and authentic flavors that took my taste buds on an adventure.

For the main course, I opted for the Smoked Rib with Jue sauce, a recommendation from the attentive and knowledgeable staff. Serve mashed potatoes and peanut powder jus sauce.

A bustling sit-down BYOB Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Princeton with an innovative menu and large portions.

I was pleased to find many dishes on the menu -- both starters and entress -- I'd never seen elsewhere. Quite a few of them sounded intriguing, and I hope to return and try more of them.

The meal started with complimentary hot bread. My companion's and my appetizers and entrees were all generous servings. We ended up taking half our entrees home and were still quite full.

The decor and ambience were generally nice, but not special. The noise level was high, making conversation difficult. This was due mostly to loud conversations at surrounding tables, but also to an electronic chime that seemed to be coming from the kitchen at random intervals.

A note to those with nut allergies: Many of the dishes on the menu include nuts, as does one of the accompaniments that was served with the bread. But there are plenty of dishes that don't include nuts as ingredients, and my server was helpful in checking my choices.

This being downtown Princeton, if you drive, you'll probably be able to find street parking, but it may be a few blocks away, and you may need to feed a meter. Princeton has several paid parking decks, all several minutes' walk from this restaurant.

There were plenty of starters under $20 and plenty of entrees under $40. The total bill for two of us was around $100 before tax and tip.

A Taste of Halal Fine Dining in the Heart of Princeton: Aspendos Mediterranean Cuisine Nestled on the quaint Nassau Street in Princeton, Aspendos isn't just another Mediterranean restaurant. It's a portal to a culinary adventure, where vibrant flavors intertwine with elegant presentation and attentive service to create an unforgettable dining experience.... and yes its Halal! We stopped by a couple nights ago after randomly searching for Halal fine dining in the area and were swept away by the experience.

While everything looked amazing in the menu, we ordered Crispy Octopus and Crispy Troya Liver from the appetizers section and they did not disappoint.

For the mains, we went with the Smoked Rib with Jue Sauce , the Brown Butter Tenderloin and the Lamb Shank which were all testaments to culinary precision and cooked to perfection. My favorite was the Lamb Shank with the meat falling off the bone with the slightest nudge, enveloped in a rich and flavorful sauce that was both warming and complex.

Beyond the culinary excellence, Aspendos shines in its service and atmosphere. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, their recommendations on point and their presence never intrusive. The ambiance is one of warm sophistication, perfect for an intimate dinner or a celebratory gathering.
