I bought over $100 worth of clothes in here which is easy considering the ridiculous prices. My main gripe, however, is that I was looking casual and frankly not my absolute best that day, but was shopping like any regular customer. The staff was looking me up and down throughout the store, giving noticeable dirty looks and whispering to each other often…and the woman at the register snipped rudely at me packaging my things into the reusable bag I brought, (literally, in front of her, at the register), because she didn’t give me my change back yet (I paid in cash), and suggested I got lucky because the sweater was the wrong price. It’s a clean and cute store with admittedly some gorgeous clothing, but just felt entirely judged, and was literally watched putting my purchases away… I was in this store once before wearing a vintage Gucci bag and bought one shirt for literally $15, and was treated totally differently…always good for staff to be vigilant for thefts but please, stop judging customers during a very hectic time of year, assuming the worst just because they may look more alternative or casual than the usual crowd. Updated July 2024: The owner originally asked me to email her after my review with the day and time I shopped. I took time out of my work day to do so…she then edited her original response, and made it that defensive and rude one below… Lynne, YOUR staff openly talks about customers after they bring clothes to sell, give almost constant dirty looks, had me visibly stop bagging for an obvious prejudice, and need an overhaul. The Greene Street in Marlton closed and I always wondered why…if the ownership culture is like yours, it makes total sense. I will never go back and will share this story with the thousands of followers and other local business owners who read my content on my viral thrifting Instagram. Ugh, I used to love it here but now I’m super disappointed in this place. If you like Greene Street, thrift shopping or recycling clothes and the “values” shared on their website, social media and in store —you should know they absolutely do not practice what they preach. Greene Street buys and resells fast fashion and wholesale clothes from China in their store (see screenshots and attached pictures) I’m just super bummed. Not wanting to buy super cheap and unethically produced fast fashion is one of the MAIN reasons many people go thrifting in the first place. It’s so disingenuous to hang shirts, hoodies, bags, hats and more in the racks all over the store and act like they’re part of the recycling and consignment and “green” values of the company. It’s just not. Not to mention what a ripoff, why charge over $30 for a $12 hoodie from Amazon??? Or $17 for a $2 hat from Alibaba (china) Super lame. If you want to be a boutique shop please go ahead, but don’t make your customers feel like they’re doing good things by “providing customers with a sustainable shopping alternative to the disposable fashion so prevalent in modern society.” Like you say in my screenshot when it’s clear you’re not any different than the other companies perpetuating the fast fashion problem

I went there with my friend. She bought a Burberry scarfe price for about $100. My friend thought it is good deal. But asked the store if it is real Burberry. They said yes. After my friend bought it , we were curious about if it is real true. We brought it to the other store to confirm if it is real. However, the label of Burberry was stitched slightly not event. The other store said..It is unlikely a authentic Burberry scarfe. Very disappointed... We called the Green store and informed them about the fake Burberry item. The person answered the phone said all sale is final ...No return. Don't buy designer items there. Not a honest store. Be very careful !!!

This is the first time I've ever written a review because of how disappointed I was with my experience. I live in the area and would go to the store almost every weekend to shop, however this was my first time consigning and I was really taken aback by how rude the staff was. I've seen other reviews stating this but didn't believe it until I experienced it myself. I was waiting in the line to have someone look over my clothes, and while waiting I could hear the girls behind the counter looking at a women's items. The one woman working was so rude and mean and making condescending comments about how the clothes were from 2009 or 2013 and were gross. I already wanted to leave at that point because of how rude she was being. I wound up having another girl look through my items of which I brought 4 Free People items that were new with tags, 4 Lululemon items that were barely worn, designer shoes, and other items from Nordstrom. They came back and wouldn't take any of the Lululemon and only 1 or 2 of the free people items.

I could really care less that they didn't take my items for whatever reason, but they way they were speaking about other customers items was so disrespectful. You can tell these older women who try to consign there have money and probably have quite a few things of very good quality. The employees are making fun of their items, yet you guys accepted 10 of the same mens shirt with a company logo on it. I used to shop here habitually but I will never go there again seeing how they spoke about customers behind...

This is the first time I have consigned with Greene Street. Once you understand the very confusing rules on how and what to consign, and meeting all the criteria and dates, I scheduled to pick up the items that did not sell. On the positive side, 12 of my 14 items sold. On the negative side my experience when I went to pick up the unsold items, was less than professional. I found the one item immediately, but the second item was tricky to find. After they told me where it was located, I did not find my item. I asked, and she directed me to another rack and told me that it might be in with the maxi dresses. I checked there and still could not find my item. When I asked for help, the sales lady was RUDE AF and marched over to the rack and thumbed through all the dresses until she located it. The dress had kind of swung around the back so it was hard to see. Then she says in a very rude tone “That is why we ask you to check TWO times before asking for help”. Wow- okay.. sorry, I just took away 45 seconds of your time behind the register literally doing nothing.

They also only give you 30% once it sells. Which I knew going into it, but I have consigned other places that give at least 50% and price the items a bit higher- and they have always sold.

All in all, I don’t think I will consign with Greene Street again. But I will still shop there as a customer, as their selection is great! I just hope I don’t run into miss cranky...
