Jimmies Restaurant — Restaurant in Princeton

I've been in the restaurant business for 35 years and this place is a 5 Star! Super clean, including the restrooms. Excellent service. We sat at the bar and everything around us was organized and clean. Someone seemed to be dedicated to ensuring everything was organized. She was in perpetual motion. Great associate! They checked people out and still took the time to greet people coming through the door. The atmosphere was lively and convivial. The waitstaff was sweet, efficient, and presentable. The food was amazing. It was the best 3 egg omelet I ever had. My husband loved his, too. It was a brunch menu which was varied, traditional, and creative. We were just passing through on a trip to Michigan or we would be eating here all the time. The chef came out and checked on all the tables. We call that "table touching." The sign of a professional organization. It's not done much anymore so it was a joy to see him interacting. This place is truly a gem. It was an honor to experience it. Great restaurant. Very good food. Owner used to cook at the Greenbrier. I had the Jimmie burger which had 1/2 pound burger, ham, fried egg, house made 2000 island dressing(that’s what the menu says) lettuce and tomato. Onion rings were deep fried to near perfection. The menu is special today when we went because Mercer Street has a cruise in tonight and every third Saturday during summer. Well worth stopping in to Jimmies to eat and feel what it’s like to go back in time when things were more simple like the 50’s 60’s and 70’s. Mercer street has that old school feeling and jimmies puts the exclamation mark on it. I gave everything a 5 star rating because the food tastes fresh and the atmosphere gives that...

The reason I gave this one star is becase my boyfriend and I ended up poisoned by the burgers that we ate 5 hours prior (on Tuesday the 23rd of April)! We were so badly ill that we had to stay the night in Princeton. Upon my arrival back to Pittsburgh and a blood test later, toxins that almost killed me were found in my body. I want to let you know that I am still recovering from the nighmare.Never again! I ordered a Swiss Mushroom Burger with a side salad, and a Pepsi, not a Rat Poison Burger. I am so disappointed from this experience that I will never reconsider moving to Princeton, WV. Best wishes with your business.... whoever handled our food needs...
