Where could i even begin to start? Is zero stars a review? As a precursor to all of this. I have had six-hundred dollars worth of work done to this bike with no down payment. They did the work. They got paid for the work. Remember that going into all of this. On top of that. The 600$ worth of work they did was originally going to be 400$ but. I guess somebody changed their mind along the way.
I took My 1990 kawasaki vulcan 500 in for a simple wireing issue in DECEMBER. Side note. My bike was running 20 minutes prior to the wire issue that i sent it to the shop for.
It is now july 7. And i only got my bike back yesterday. I give it to them. And i dont hear back for the first MONTH. So i have to call them.
"We are sorry. We haven't been able to work on it" I let it slide. Its december. Im not riding. Whatever. I tell them. Okay. But i need it fixed. They say they will start working on it on friday. It was monday.
I wait till the next monday. Tyring to not be that one guy who goes to a shop expecting to be treated Like the only one there
So i call. And i get the news that they found i have no compression in the left cylinder. Which. As stated before. The bike ran several minutes before the wire issue came up
So i tell them. Okay. Whatever. Go ahead and start the work on it. And i also told them that i wanted my- Carbs cleaned New throttle cable And new electronic start button.
I am quoted for a price of around $400 Okay. No problem. I just tell them. Get it done. I need it back. Around the time of this whole conversation. It is now February.
So i call them to get the rundown. What is going on. What has been done. What parts are they waiting for, ext ext. Heres what i am told by the guy i talked to on the phone. "Oh im sorry. I forgot to tell the guys in the shop to do that work" Me. As i try to hold it together without breaking professionallity here. Tell him. I need my bike back. It has been two months and you havent even looked at it yet. The hell is going on. So he says the wire issue is fixed Thats amazing. Only took you two months.
So i tell him. Get it done. He says okay. Call a week later. Hows it going.
We cant work on it. Because any work over $300 requires you put down a 60% payment before we start working on it. New boss. I drive over there. Because i am beyond the words needed to surmise my disgust and dissapointment as a total here.
So i tell them. In PERSON. Fix the compression issue. I will do the rest myself.
They say okay.
Now. They had pulled the spark plugs out of my bike. They put rags in the holes. And just. Set it outside. With the keys. In the rain. In the sun.
Finally. After another month. I go to say screw it. I can fix compression myself. Low and behold. The compression is fixed. So i pick my bike up for 140$
The smog sensors. The spark plugs. The spark plug wires. And the gas tank? Not on the bike. I guess they deemed it entirely unnecessary to have it in the condition i brought it there in. Along woth my licence plate and tail light broken and gone.
So i put my bike back together. Go to start it up. And where they left it in the rain? Without plugs? It got moisture in the cylinders and locked my engine up to where i had to use a breaker bar to turn it over by hand. Just so my starter cold turn the bike over itself. But you know what they told me? Oh. It has compression and spark. How can you test spark when the engine is frozen. Riddle me that one.
So i get the engine broke free. And now? It has a coolant leak somewhere and it is spitting coolant out of the weep holes on the side of the engine on the left side.
So you know what Hillbilly cycle? You won this round. Made a fool out of me. Took advantage of me. I know i cant do ANYTHING to get my money back. But you robbed me of my time. My money. My patients
With absolute distain and...
Read moreDo not bring anything here to get worked on!! Took a bike with a leak on the left crankcase cover and a tune up. I told the mechanic that the inner case was damaged as well and probably needed replacing to get it sealed. Well I go back to pick up the bike and they tell me it’s sealed. I pay $263 for the tune up and sealing the crankcase. A day later I notice a small puddle of oil and call them back they say to bring it back in.
I take the bike back and they say the whole motor has to come apart to get it to seal. Ok, that’s fine, I want the oil leak fixed. So I pick up my bike and pay $1235 for the motor to be torn down and put back together so the inner case can be replaced to seal up the oil leak. Get the bike off the back of the truck and from there first start you can hear the valves banging. I ride the bike and it won’t rev out or go over 10-15 mph. So I call the next day they are open and I tell them my neighbor who races thinks the valves are out of adjustment. I’m thinking this is during the rebuild since it didn’t do it before I took it in to be rebuilt and did it immediately after I got it off the truck.
I take it back down and they adjust the valves and they charge me for the valve adjustment. I’m livid because obviously I think the valves were affected by the rebuild. They tell me there’s no way they didn’t touch the top end. That they test ride it and it was fine. Ok, so if it was fine before I picked it up what happened between the drive from the shop to my house to get them out of adjustment, especially since it was only Saturday until they opened back up on Tuesday that I brought it to their attention? So I pay for the valve adjustment and think I’ll never bring anything back here again.
With that being said I got the bike back home and lo and behold the bike had a puddle of oil under it. I’ve already spent like $1600 with these guys and it’s still leaking oil !! I thought no way I’m dealing with these guys again I’ll try to fix it myself or take it somewhere else. Well I waited and after about 3 weeks I calmed down and said I’ll give them a chance to make it right.
I called and respectfully told them what was going on and I was dismissed laughed at because “I waited so long to call back” even though I told them why it took me so long to call back. Which any normal person would think was a normal reaction to the situation, and by their reaction of laughing during my explanation proves my point of why I hesitated to call. They told me they would’ve called immediately. Well I’m not you, and like I said, after spending $1600 and still having the problem you originally came in with any normal person would have reservations to take anything back to them. After mentioning a negative Google review I was told that I would hear from their lawyer for slandering them. This is their idea of customer service. I’ve never dealt with such disrespectful hatefulness from a company like this before. Obviously after spending the money I did I wasn’t out to lie or screw anyone over. I just wanted the problem resolved and they could’ve done that from the beginning of the conversation, but they didn’t, so...
Read moreSo to follow up on my previous review, I cannot change my rating. I waited a couple days to cool my head and go back into hillbilly cycle sales, to get my 4 wheeler, turns out the shop performed maintenance on my 4 wheeler that I did not ask for. I took it in for a bent valve and a bad front output shaft bearing, they said the valve was not bent just out of adjustment, and was not able to recreate the noise from the bearing, but they changed the oil and filter replaced the spark plug and air filter and replaced my battery, they did a valve adjustment, charged me for two hours labor and the parts totaling up to $526.00. When I dropped it off to them I told them if it is not covered under warranty to call me I would pay their diagnostic rate and fix it myself, but never got a phone call. Well they offered to take everything off my wheeler and only charge me a half hour labor. You must be kidding it came into your shop with plug oil filter air filter and battery and im not leaving without it. Ended up giving them their battery back and paid for the rest of the parts, with only 1/2 hr labor. That was the best deal I could work out without waiting around for the owner to show up and argue with him about it. I have to say I am proud of myself for keeping my composure throughout and not loosing my cool in their shop. I DEFINATELY DO NOT RECCOMEND THEM TO ANYONE FOR SERVICE. ALSO I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE PARTS DEPARTMENT AND HOPEFULLY WILL BE ABLE TO CONTINUE TO PURCHASE...
