I went there with a party of 5 for hibachi. I have severe food allergies to gluten and I haven’t eaten beef or pork for more than 35 years. I explained these allergies to the waitress and my husband informed them of my food allergies in advance. I get really sick when I am exposed to these allergens and I have to take lots of Benadryl to counter the effects which include stomach illness, vomiting, diarrhea, skin redness, and hives.
I ordered chicken and shrimp, and they brought me chicken and beef. No one came back to check on me, so I got up and went to the front to explain the problem. I told the man at the register that I was given chicken and beef and I ordered chicken and shrimp. I explained that I don’t eat beef and haven’t eaten beef in more than 35 years, so I can’t eat it. Someone came and took my plate. They later brought me chicken and shrimp. I wasn’t very hungry so I didn’t finish it, but I packed up the leftovers to bring home for my husband, since he loves hibachi.
By the time I got home, I was experiencing many of the side effects previously described, so I took 3 Benadryls and went to bed, a complete waste of an evening with the family - instead being sick.
Today my husband went to eat my leftovers and he found pieces of beef and other remnants of the beef in my food. After closer inspection, he determined that someone likely picked the beef off the first plate and added shrimp and brought it back to me. He called the restaurant to let them know of this error, and the manager said that the kitchen staff doesn’t speak English, so they probably didn’t understand. The manager was unapologetic and didn’t deny that his staff would do something like this, so maybe this is standard practice at this restaurant.
I can’t understand how this would be acceptable practice for a nice restaurant, I’m still kind of upset about this, I will definitely never go there again, and I will warn others, especially people with food allergies that they should likely avoid this place. I was hesitant to go to hibachi because I have food allergies, and this experience has made this...
Read moreWent here last night. I ordered 2 Shirley temples, a sushi roll, crab leg, shrimp roll, pork fried rice and lo mein. My daughter took a couple bites of her crab leg and shrimp roll and didn’t eat the rest. Said it was not good or flavorful. My cucumber/cream cheese roll was good. I had a little of the rice and lo mein which didn’t really have much flavor and was mushy. I drank almost all of my Shirley temple when I noticed a huge spider on the inside of my cup. I then noticed how sticky the cup was on the rim inside/outside as well as a hair (not mine) also stuck to the inside. I told the waiter and he just kind of shrugged and said “you’re ok though.” He then brought the check I asked him to take the Shirley temples off. He said ok, he took 1 off but not the other because only one had a spider. The other was barely drank and wasn’t going to be after what we saw in mine. He got the manager who said “oh wow” she was surprised when seeing the spider and she took the other Shirley temple off of the check. There was no apology or concern although she was very nice when seating us and checking on us prior. I couldn’t even take the extra food home (there was a lot) because I was too grossed out. I felt even more like money was wasted. I also woke up at 6am with stomach pains and sick. I’ve never left a review for a restaurant before and I do not like to be negative but I also don’t want customers spending money to have similar...
Read moreI have been here twice. The first time it was pretty good, and service was good. That was for lunch. The second time it was at night and the service was bad. We ordered a combo that included rice, chicken wings, and boneless chicken, and an egg roll. This was much too much meat so I asked if they could substitute fries instead of the bonless chicken. The waitress said no, they can only substitute fries for rice. I asked to speak to a manager and she said the same thing and that the kitchen staff would "get confused" if they substituted the chicken for fries.
I told her that the restaurant is SAVING money by giving us fries instead of bonless chicken and I have never had an Asian restaurant staff refuse such a substitution, but they couldn't understand.
So we had to order a side order or fries, which came out 20 minutes before the food instead of with the food! The food took forever. The Sprites we ordered tasted like a mixture of cholorine and too much sugar. We asked they be replaced with Coke. When the food did come out, they gave me the wrong order.
Maybe this was just a bad night or maybe it was a result of a bad waitress, but it was not an enjoyable night in terms of service. The food was adequate, but nothing exceptional, which was ironic because the place is fairly pricey considering they serve pretty much typical Chinese food fare. maybe they think because they serve sushi they can charge more...
