Cactus Grill Mexican Restaurant and catering — Restaurant in Proviso Township

Ordered carryout today. Excuse the presentation. That was my fault because I tilted the bag while carrying it in the house (was carrying groceries too). So far, it's the best tasting tacos I've had in the Forest Park/Oak Park area, as I have been on the lookout for good tacos in this area all year. This place is better than Tacobron and Taco '76, the other taco spots I've tried in the area. More affordable and tastier. In my tacos, I'm looking for a good taste in the tortilla and a good taste in the meat. My go to is chicken tacos. Their chicken tacos tasted great. Was able to taste the chicken and it had flavor. The tortillas was a little bland though.

Today was my first visit to Cactus Grill, and I have to say—I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I ordered the steak quesabirrias, and they were absolutely delicious—so flavorful, tender, and cheesy. I meant to snap a photo, but before I knew it… they were gone. That should tell you everything.

I also tried the Agua de Jamaica. It was light and refreshing, though I do wish it had a bit more of that tart “kick” hibiscus drinks usually bring. Still, it paired nicely with the meal.

The restaurant itself was clean and welcoming, and everything was served in a timely manner. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying more...

Love the food, the plates are huge!!! Excellent customer service, very clean, love the decoration, great atmosphere. They brought to our table tortilla chips and salsa, the salsa was fantastic- hot but not overpowering. For an appetizer we order queso fundido con chorizo ...the cheese was blended with tomatoes, onions and jalapeño... finger licking good!!!
