We ordered the stuffed grape leaves and falafel. For entrees, we ordered the beef kabobs and combination of late, which came with chicken and beef, with a garlic sauce. It came with rice and warm pita.

The meats were tender and seasoned with spices. The rice was seasoned with tumeric and other spices. Beware of the grilled shishito peppers: one bite and you won't taste anything else.

We ordered baclava to go. It was delicious! It wasn't as sweet as Greek baclava, which generally is soaked in honey. The phyllo laters were brushed with honey and the filling seemed to be pistachios instead of walnuts. Also, the piece was generous and sliced into bites.

This is primarily a take-out restaurant. Also very clean and nicely decorated. But I have visited in summer (very hot) and winter (very cold); not very comfortable. The wait staff are male and responded better to my son. Service was fast and helpful, though.

Good food, good service and fair prices....

Chicken Kebab Plate with Hummus

A simple, yet delicious, workday lunch. Cheers to a not-so-artsy meal at a not-so-famous Mediterranean restaurant located in downtown Forest Park. . .

A glance at the spread speaks volumes of how healthy it is. Chicken, rice, grilled veggies, hummus, and olive oil. Could it be more balanced? Not just healthy, the chicken was very tender and flavorful, the rice not at all sticky, the veggies perfectly done, and the hummus so fresh and tangy. It couldn’t get better in terms of nutrition too. Protein from chicken; carbs from rice and hummus; fats from olive oil. .

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 A go-to type place when we don’t feel like spending the big bucks or fighting the hustle-bustle of the city, yet would want our meal to be delicious and of course, healthy. Every item on their menu is great. Especially, their...

I love the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant, however, the food was definitely a miss. The rice had some color but no flavor, the chicken didn't really taste fresh and there was this white sauce drizzled on the top of the chicken (Was kind of tangy/sour tasting; was not it and should be offered on the side.) I was hoping this place was as good as Tanoor Kabob. But today, that was not the case. It has potential, and needs work.

The staff was friendly, and kind which was inviting. The culture and layout of the place give a home feeling, but the menu gives fast food vibes. Overall 3 out of 5 stars

For reference, I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate

P.S.

I asked for a refund and the owner offered to remake the food and give me a refund. He was very apologetic and sincere which I appreciate so much. Customer service 10/10. I wish I...

Petra Falafel is a fantastic spot for a delicious and affordable meal! Their daily $10 lunch special is a great deal, including a tasty sandwich, fries, and a soda. The falafel is a must-try, and I highly recommend the steak option as well—it’s always cooked perfectly. The baklava here is also amazing, a sweet treat to end your meal. The chicken can be a little rubbery if it’s been sitting for a while, but overall, the food is consistently great. Definitely a go-to for a satisfying lunch.

Not dirty, just looked old, but I guess that’s the point. The lentil soup was shyt 4/10 The falafel platter was ok 8.3/10 Hummus 8.6/10 Rice, not seasoned kind of big. Not real basmati 8.3/10 Pita bread not fresh it was 8/10 The other stuff was good, idk if it was gabgoosh or something. Would go again, but never get lentil soup again. Tasted like dish water was mixed with it and it was fuqin cold. I’m BLack so I honestly don’t know if they made the lentil soup nasty on purpose.
