We walked into Wendy's blissfully unaware of the unpleasantness that would occur over the next 45 minutes. There was a sense of uneasiness as we marched toward the order counter. It seemed that all eyes were on us. That is when we realized the girl seated in the booth next to the order counter had vomited all over herself and the table. The other customers uncomfortably ate their food as some tried to help the poor girl. After a couple of minutes she stood and walked past us into the bathroom, leaving a trail of chucks that fell from her clothes as she walked. Determined to get our spicy chicken sandwiches, we held the line.
At this point we had been waiting in line for some 5-10 minutes. The cashier must've been new or overwhelmed as he struggled to add in each order. The "hiring" sign, not to mention the lack of speed in addressing the pool of masticated "Wendy's" lead us to believe they were short staffed.
We patiently waited and watched as the poor store manager finally cleaned the area of throw up, chunky fries, and pieces of lettuce.
I never knew that you could make a Wendy's order complicated, but the family in front of us managed to do so. Every substitution possible, they made. This compounded with the slow cashier to make for a very long wait. Finally we reached the front and ordered our food. The friendly cashier handed us our water cups and we went over to the Coke machine. We attempted to fill our cups with water, and a watery brownish liquid came forth from the fountain. We poured out our cups, thinking that it must have been residue from previous drinks, but after several attempts on both machines we decided to skip the brownish liquid.
At this point we thought our food would be ready. There were bags sitting there, but nobody picked them up. Eventually the family who was in front of us came and cautiously asked, "are these for Margaret?" "I think so," replied the next person in line. She took the order. After they walked away, the cashier kept trying to find a "Ben," but he never showed up. We continued waiting, and after about 5 minutes the family came back and told the cashier that they must've grabbed someone else's order as there was extra food. The cashier told them to keep the food and they went back to their seat. We waited for another 5 minutes, then curious, we returned to the counter to ask if we our order was ready.
Whether our name never made it to the list, was deleted, or was somehow changed to "Ben," the world may never know. But it was not on the list now. So we were back to waiting for our order to be made. Another several minutes of waiting until our food was finally given to us. Without saying anything to one another, we all made the same decision. We promptly left, our shoes sticking to the floor with every step, not even thinking about eating inside the building. On the bright side our sandwiches were hot! ...so hot that we burned our mouths trying to take...
Read moreMe and my husband went to the Wendy’s in Provo tonight and once we got there the girl taking our order had a shit ass attitude he told her two things we wanted but didn’t finish ordering and she immediately wanted us to pull forward without listening to the rest of our order in which we told her we weren’t done ordering yet and she had a bad attitude the rest of the time we were ordering. We get up to the window and one of the girls opens up the window tells us the price and we give her our card and she slams the window closed (and as we are going through the bag lookie lookie no silverware thanks Wendy’s your employees are awesome) she goes to give us our drinks and they look the same color as sweet tea we ordered two cokes I tasted one of them and it absolutely did not taste like coke so we told them (being polite the entire time) and they grab the drinks the manager tells us she will replace them but STILL with a shit ass attitude and has us pull forward. One of the girls comes out and asks if we would like a different drink because the syrup says it’s fine so we asked if they would just substitute the two drinks for another baconator fry and then the manager comes out which almost looks like the exact same drinks and they put something else in it to make it look darker to “satisfy” us. We had ordered two baconator fries with extra everything and I swear every single time without fail they don’t do that which again they did tonight as well which doesn’t surprise us but we always go back cause some days are better than others. We’ve had an issue with another employee a while back also with a shit ass attitude and wanting to fight my husband!! Whoever the general manager is needs to do a serious sit down with their employees it’s getting...
Read moreIn general, I like Wendy's. It's good, fast, and cheap, which is what we were going for today. That said, I wouldn't visit this particular restaurant again.
The drive-through window was slow, and communicating through the intercom was difficult. We assumed the staff member was new because of the multiple issues we had communicating our order (repetitions were necessary on every item, sizes were confused, the staff member was not knowledgeable about their promotions, and our order was not repeated to us for clarification before we were given a total) and were going to let it go, assuming the staff member was new until we received a total a bit higher than we were expecting. At the window we asked for clarification and discovered several extra items had been added to our order without instruction or clarification. They were removed and we assumed the worst was over with. This was not the case.
When we received our food, there was hardly an item that had been presented exactly as expected. French fries received no ketchup or alternative sauces, burgers ordered without mayonnaise contained exactly that, a spicy chicken Caesar salad arrived without dressing or croutons (two of four ingredients in a ceasar salad...), and a chilli order nearly wasn't served at all. When asked about it, it took an extra three or four minutes to arrive, was not the size ordered, and did not come with crackers (it's possible that you must request crackers with chilli to receive them, I am not sure of the procedure).
Over all it was not a good experience in the slightest. The drive-through was nearly empty when we arrived and had backed up to at least five cars by the time we left because the service was so convoluted and bad. I will not be returning to this...
