I've been to Koko's many times and never had a bad experience. The food was good but this time service was absolute trash. There was one server working (Korean male, early 20s, wearing a bandana). We came in apologetically, as it was close to closing time. He did not greet us at all. Not even making an effort to maintain social distancing guidelines, he came over to us with a menu in hand suggesting we order take out as they would be closing in 20 minutes or so. When we ordered our food, we changed one of our menu items and he scribbled it out with so much attitude. We still tipped him, giving it was kind of close to closing time but honestly we regretted it. While we were waiting for our food, we were by the window waiting and while we were in the middle of our conversation, he walks right in between us without saying "excuse me" or anything. He, then, begins to hang cleaning rags on the chairs on either side of us...??? We tried to move thinking that he needed to clean that area or that he'd come back and start cleaning but no he just hung the dirty rags on the chairs right beside us. He could have hung them anywhere else but he put them right next to us. Once we got our food, he didn't even look at us and handed us the food rudely. As soon as we walked out he turned the lights outside off. We left right at closing time. It's not like we were there after it closed. My friends and I have never experienced such terrible customer service like this and we left feeling dumbfounded and shocked. We spoke to another friend, and he also experienced bad service from the exact...
Read moreKoko Lunchbox is hands down my favorite Korean restaurant in Utah! 😍 I ordered the stone bowl, and let me tell you, it was packed with flavor and came with a generous portion of food—definitely more than enough to fill me up. 🥘 The stone bowl was piping hot, with perfectly cooked rice that had that delicious crispy layer at the bottom. The veggies and beef were fresh, tender, and super flavorful. I like my food spicy, so I added a bunch of the hot sauce 🌶️, which took it to another level!
Service was quick, even though it wasn’t too busy when I went. ⏱️ The staff were friendly and efficient, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The place is straightforward and has a nice, casual vibe—perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. It’s conveniently located and has easy parking, which made the experience even better. 🅿️
I’ve tried a lot of Korean spots around Utah, but this one takes the cake for me. 🎂 The quality, flavor, and portion sizes are top-notch, and I’ll absolutely be returning again and again. If you’re craving authentic Korean food, this is the spot to check out. Highly recommend Koko...
Read moreThird review after two more years: still my favorite restaurant.
Second review: I posted my first review about a year ago. Since then, this has become my favorite place to eat. I often find myself looking for reasons go to Provo around lunchtime so I can eat here.
I love spicy food and there are some very spicy dishes served here. However, they have delicious non-spicy meals as well.
If you like it spicy, you have to try kimchi chi-gae or kimchi udon. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
If your taste buds are a bit less wild, beef bulkogi is a good choice.
A crowd favorite is the stone bowl bibim pop, which you can add pepper sauce to. This gives you the chance to make this delicious mix of rice and veggies just as hot or tame as you like.
This is a great place to experiment with awesome new tastes beyond the usual burger and fries.
I absolutely love this place.
