Catering service is no good! (and others have had bad experiences too)
We hired CV to cater a professional event for around 130 people. We ordered around 10 extra meals to be safe. After we specifically asked for the food to be there early, it showed up 20 minutes late. This was a little detrimental and embarrassing for us, as we were on a strict schedule. Then, we ran out of meat with around 20-30 people left. This was deeply embarrassing and frustrating after they were already late. It also threw off our schedule, as some people were sitting there without food while others had finished. Luckily, and to their credit, they brought more meat within around 30 minutes. But, again, this totally threw off our schedule. (If they did give us enough meat by their standards, you can argue that we shouldn't have allowed people to serve themselves. But a warning that self-serve typically runs low sure would have been nice!) After the event was over, I left some messages requesting to speak with the manager. After unsuccessful attempts, they finally got back to me and were very apologetic and offered meal cards to make up for it. Due to our organization's restrictions (and the fact that our guests were the ones that we wanted to make it up to), we declined to accept the cards. However, we asked for a partial refund. After weeks of being ignored, then passed on to someone else, who also ignored me, I've given up trying to give CV a second chance. I've since learned that others have had negative experiences with CV in the past. Great food, but stay away for...
Read moreI drive for doordash and this location has repeatedly refused to hand out the orders I’m trying to deliver. The reason they give is because I don’t have the doordash bag, but I am currently still waiting for them to send the keep-warm bag from the company. I spoke with one of the employees about it the second time I had this issue, and he said that it was to make sure they were handing the order to a real doordash driver. I showed him the order on my phone, which included the customer’s name, and he changed his reason. Suddenly the reason was to keep the food warm. I never deliver anything that’s going to take more than 5-10 minutes for this reason, so I let him know that the delivery was only about 5 minutes away. Suddenly his reason was to keep the food sanitary since he “didn’t know what kind of germs I had in my car”. I keep my car as sanitized as I can since we all have to be careful with COVID-19. Even so, a bag that stays in my car while I’m working is going to carry the same “germs” as the rest of my car. The funny thing is that in between the deliveries that the restaurant refused to release, I called ahead and a different employee ran a different order I was delivering out to my car, without me having a bag. Literally not a single other restaurant has this rule. I understand we need to be careful with the pandemic going around, but there is literally no good reason for this “policy”. If they’re really that worried about spreading disease then they just need to shut down the restaurant or stop delivering through a third party...
Read moreI have Celiac disease. I kindly asked for a gluten free burrito. The employee (who was a shift lead, I did not get his name, but I went around 6 pm on Thursday August 7th in the Provo location) just immediately dismissed my request and kept shaking his head and rudely saying “I can’t do that. I can’t do that.” I told him “I’ve had it done here before…” and he kept insisting no. He was not being kind at all about it. I would have understood if he said “I don’t feel comfortable doing that today, would you like something else?” But his tone of voice and rude attitude was just appalling. The other employees jumped in and said “oh we can do that!” And he insisted that they couldn’t. Finally he gave in, and reached for the corn tortillas WITHOUT CHANGING HIS GLOVES. One reason I love Costa Vida is how quick the employees change their gloves when I request a gluten free meal. But this SHIFT LEAD didn’t even want to do that decency. I had to ask him to change his gloves, which he begrudgingly did. And then he made my burrito, without even looking my way the whole time. I understand that a gluten free burrito is not the standard way to make a burrito, but it really isn’t hard or inconvenient. What is hard and inconvenient is having Celiac disease or any dietary restrictions and facing poor treatment like I received from this employee. This experience would be enough to make someone like me never want to go back again. Do better....
