I very very rarely post a review. Prior to going to the Fairy Cafe several days ago I almost always went to Gourmet Dumpling House in Chinatown. When it closed that left me looking for another restaurant. I took a look at reviews of restaurants both in Chinatown and in Quincy. I live on the South shore so Quincy is convenient. To my surprise the best reviews seemed to be for Fairy Cafe. So I went there with my wife. Frankly we were blown away by both the quality of the food and the quantity. For $30 each you can get unlimited hot pot. I decided against that because I wanted to try some other dishes. I ordered a noodle soup which was excellent. In a very large bowl with a lot of ingredients.. My wife got salt and pepper shrimp. That was absolutely the best shrimp dish I have ever had. And good quantity. Instead of ordering the $30 each hotpot I got hotpot and 3 meat dishes, paying separately for the 3 meat dishes. And a plate of watercress. I was totally surprised by the quantity of meat that was provided. There was so much food that we could not finish it and had to bring much of it home. The restaurant is small and is not beautifully decorated. That is not important to me, what is important is the quality of the food. The service was also very friendly. The manager even came over to talk to us. I felt that the prices were very reasonable. This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant in the Boston area. A plus is not having to pay $20 for parking...
Read moreThis little restaurant has a wide range of dishes to choose from, including hot pot! I have been here several times and each time I go, I try out something different so I can discover new favorites to add to my old favorites
I can recommend the watermelon lychee Boba tea, the sticky rice, Japanese Fried Dumplings, Fried Crab Rangoon, Korean Beef Udon Noddle Soup (Spicy),
I wasn't a fan of the pork udon stir-fry, as I am very particular about my stir-fry noodles and like it very cooked, slightly pan seared, so the noodles here were just too soft for me.
The staff are friendly and this little gem tucked away on Brook Street can get quite crowded. There is street parking scattered around the area and into the residential sector. The place itself is divided into two rooms, both with booth and table seating.
All in all worth going to and worth going to more than once. I can't wait to...
Read moreOur family has a tradition of going out to a fun restaurant for Easter. We all thoroughly enjoyed our Easter Hotpot Buffet brunch at Fairy Cafe in Quincy!
Great value for high quality ingredients that were very fresh. We tried several choices not typically found at other restaurants. We had rib eye steak, beef tongue, chicken, pork, shrimp, salmon, scallops, clams, mini pork dumplings, quail eggs, shrimp balls, beef balls, pork skin, broccoli, napa, baby bok choy, and shitake mushrooms (I think that's all...).
I know the whole point of dining out is so none of us had to prep, cook, and cleanup - but the grandkids actually enjoyed getting a mini cooking lesson with the Hotpot 😁.
Our fantastic wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and highly efficient!
Edit: Nothing fancy, casual dining. They also have a menu with regular...
