Beutiful decore and Amazing street food
A truly beautiful decore and even better food This is one of the best Indian restaurant for Mumbai steet food We ordered a tonne of dishes and every dish was better than the last. Before starting the good part the only disappointing dishes were the pani puri and the paan The pani puri had 5 different flavours of pani but they were not the best. No two flavours can be mixed was one of the dissappointment. No sukha puri is a big red flag for me as a pani puri lover. The paan was plain awful. 3 $ down the drain Coming to the good part
Missal pav : It felt very authentic and it reminded me of my time in Mumbai. It's not our authentic Maharashtrian Missal but it was very close. Loved it. They served matki and onion with missal. Vada pav ; Another amazing dish. The vada was super delicious with a perfect balance of the garlic in the masala. Was served with a green chilly and garlic chutney Dabeli : Dabeli was pretty decent. I do prefer the Dabeli street style and this was a bit off. Acknowledging the fact that dabeli masala is difficult to crack , this was pretty decent. Bombay sandwich: Really simple and really tasty. This was served with a chutney which tasted really good. It was loaded with cheese and vegies. Bombay street style. Nailed it Peri peri sandwich : This again was a very good sandwhich which was served with a tandoori mayo. It was loaded with cheese panner and other vegies. Again a very good dish Veg puff : This was not theri best dish. The puff lacked masala and felt a bit too oily. They can work on this. But it was edible. Not worth the money spent but not too bad Sugercan Juice (Ganne ka juice ) Very fresh and very natural. A rare find in the US. Falooda : The best dish of the night. I ordered the pista falooda and instantly fell in love with the flavours. It felt so rich and tasty. I can't get over it. Will visit once again just for the falloda. It's to die for.
Overall an amazing destination with beautiful decor. If you love chaat you gotta visit the place. The drinks were a bit expensive like the chiku milkshake at around 8 $ but the food and the place is worth the...
Read moreI like the street food concept. Not a big fan of the usual Indian affair that's offer at other restaurant, but this place was more fun, though vegetarian..e.g. lots of mashed potatoes in different forms. Despite that being the common theme, they were very fun to eat with not crazy spicy with just enough Indian herbs and sauce to keep it interesting.
They even set up a pani puri booth window to mimic a street food experience on the spot. You can choose to experience it before the rest of your dishes are ready or after you're done with your other foods. Crispy filled shells are made in front of you and drenched with a different soupy sauce and put it all in your mouth one at a time. Garlic was my favorite. If you've never tried before, one round of 9 with 3-4 pp is plenty as a first timer. It's a lot of liquid lol but fun.
The p&d sandwich is delicious and substantial. Love the addition of veggies.
Samosa or the samosa chat is the more familiar snack that's a tasty fried dumpling. Try it in the chat form and it becomes a deconstructed samosa with yogurt and sauces on the bottom.
All the drinks were yummy..mango lassi, grape juice. Though the hot chai was only a shot size for $5! Nonetheless, I enjoyed it very much.
Dessert..pistachio falooda!!! Pistachio shake with ice cream float with basil seed and noodles is awesome! Noodles are not weird at all in a sweet dessert.
P&D is a great diverse addition to the Wollaston food scene, which has been over bombarded with Chinese/Thai/Japanese food in recent years. Indian street food fits in imo. Ppl...
