Pierogi Palace — Restaurant in Rahway

This might just be the best pierogis I’ve ever had. I met the owners husband at a restaurant earlier in the day and decided to stop in real quick. She was getting ready to close and only had potato/cheddar or potato/sauerkraut that was fresh made. I opted for the potato/cheddar. She handed me the dozen pierogis and said they ready to eat as-is or fry them with some onions. I asked if she could fry them for me and she happily obliged. She only had minced onions which was fine with me and OMG! I ate one piping hot and it was spectacular. I thanked her, paid her and went on my way. I went to run some errands and had the pierogis sitting in my car for about 45 minutes and they were still a little warm. They were so good I ate the other 11 and immediately called her to let her know how good they were, that I would be back to try other flavors and was gonna right a review. Best pierogi's in the country never mind the state! I have travelled all over the country and tasted many pierogi and nothing comes close. The stuffed cabbage is to die for, melts in your mouth. This establishment is family owned, family run and crucial to the local business community. I travel from down the shore to purchase the exceptional food hand made here for the last 25 years. I can see why the line to pick up is around the block during holidays. That, in and of itself, it a testament to their reputation and repeat loyal customers. This place is a staple, and a must if you truly appreciate quality pierogi. I could make my own, but no need to when a gem of a place like this exists! I have been ordering from this place for a very long time, every Easter and Thanksgiving. The holiday meal would not be complete without an order of several dozen pierogi from Pierogi Palace. It doesn't matter what variety you order, enjoy, they are all great. For me, it's like being able to taste something important from my childhood and help keep memories alive of a time that I look forward to reminiscing...
