We just dined here and had arguably the worst Mexican restaurant experience ever. It was a Sunday evening and not crowded and it took 45 minutes for 4 meals. 30 minutes after ordering a team member came to our table to check the receipt and said that it would be just another 5 minutes. She took our receipt and never returned it. It was closer to 15 more minutes before our food arrived. At this point it was clear to us that there was an issue with our order. And our guess was that they forgot to start the order. We had ordered a plate of super nachos that came with the meal instead of before even though it took 45 minutes. Starting with the nachos the chips were stale and well over half of them had no cheese, steak, or peppers on them. The steak on the nachos was fatty and there was one very large chunk of steak rather than small pieces of cut up steak (see picture. NOTE: by the time I took the picture I had removed half the chips because there was nothing on them. When we ordered the nachos we asked if it came with sour cream and were told it could or did. No sour cream was on the nachos. We asked for some and got something in a plastic container that had texture more like ranch dressing than sour cream.
We asked for salsa and we were given a bottle of hot sauce. We had to use plastic utensils because all of the normal metal silverware was unavailable. One member of our group ordered a chicken quesadilla that came with steak instead and again the steak was fatty. The rest of the meals had chicken that was dry. This restaurant charges your credit card when you order and then asks for a tip before you get to taste your food/drink or experience the service. This experience is why I don’t like this type of system as it only leads to high expectations on the customer’s end and regret when things don’t go well. Lastly, I don’t usually leave reviews unless my experience is extremely good or extremely...
Read moreIf I could give a zero I would. The lady at the front counter was kind and patient, but as soon as we finished ordering, we saw a ROACH on the side of the front counter. The lady noticed we were staring at something and she asked if it was a roach, as if she already knew there were roaches. She was able to kill it but that was the first red flag at this place. When our food arrived, our meat was cold. We ordered a Huarache de carne asada, and un sope de asada as well as chilaquiles. The carne asada that came with the chilaquiles was amazing, and when we tried the huarache and sope the meat had no flavor whatsoever. We were really upset about this especially since we've never cooked meat without any flavor, so we decided to ask the lady what they season their meat with. She said she didnt know and we asked if we could have our meat changed because the meat was unseasoned AND OLD. She said she couldnt change it for us so we asked to speak with the owner. The owner took super long to come out and when he came out he had a whole attitude. He started yelling at my father and said his meat is perfect we're the ones who are doing too much. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the carne and he wasn't gonna change it. The only option he gave us was to refund our money but he said if he refunded it he would THROW THE FOOD AWAY. My dad kept trying to explain to him that the reason he didnt like it was because the carne felt BOILED with no taste not asada. The owner didn't even try to listen or understand him, he kept yelling and talking over him with zero respect. He didn't ask if we wanted to keep the food or not, he just told the lady at the register to take the food away and refund it. This was our first AND...
Read moreDon Beto’s is one of the better taquerias in the area. It’s a no frills type of place but with delicious, authentic, made to order Mexican food, a great condiments bar, and nice, clean atmosphere. We have been going to Don Beto’s since it first opened. We’ve always received great customer service and the food has never disappointed! Their enchiladas are so tasty! The tostadas de pescado and ceviche for under $5 is a great deal, refreshing, and filling. Some of the best ceviche I’ve had even compared to places where you are charged triple the price for less quantity. I’ve read other reviews of people complaining about having to tip first and not receiving table service. First of all how many places do you order at the counter and then get table service?! Is this your first time eating out?!There are no host or servers so why would you expect table service?! If you need something you get up and go get it yourself or ask for it at the register. Not that complicated! Also, no one is forcing you to tip at the register. It’s an option and you can simply choose to not to leave a tip. It doesn’t impact your food or service in any way. Most places, even take out places, have options for tipping. I’ve also read negative comments regarding quality of the food. You are paying less than $2 per taco what do you expect?! If you want prime meat go to a restaurant that serves it. You will certainly pay for it and probably be over charged. If that’s what you are looking for that is totally fine but you may want to head elsewhere. Don Beto’s is authentic Mexican not a Mexican...
