I came here because my mother loves their seafood soup, otherwise, I wouldn't have came. The restaurant is beautiful with ample seating. on this day i came there was a mariachi band singing to people per request very nice gave the autheniltic mexican feel. I came to pick up the soup that i ordered for my mother prior to picking her up from her 12 hour flight! It wasnt even ready when i got there! I was very upset, i imagin3 being an American calling to order food for pick up they thought i wouldnt come but i waited for another 13 mins for them to bring it out to me, but while I waited there was a waitress eating seeds of some sort from a package in a box to be sold to customers! I couldn't believe it because I was standing right in front of her, the seeds sometimes would miss her mouth and hit the counter the snacks were on. Seriously?! what if i were an undercover customer or sanitation!? Also. there was a lady skinning a cucumber without gloves in the front. If i hadn't paid $18.00 plus a tip bringing my total to $20.00 i would have walked out! So i finally get my food and i spill some on my way out, i come back and i speak to Arturo, I'm guessing hes the owner or manager well i simply ask him if he could repackage the food because some of the broth spilled he told me i would need to pay!! So i explained to him that im not asking for more food but if he could change the bag and put the food in a clean bag. Maybe about 1/3 Of a cup spilled in the bag not much but do you think he added more broth? No! I paid $20.00 for one item that came with bread and you couldn't just add some soup!? Well my mother is in town 2x a year and believe me I will not be back! Authentic mexican is everywhere in Raleigh, nothing makes...
Read moreI just dined here for lunch this afternoon and I was very disappointed. When I walked through the door it was very full of energy and a very pleasant atmosphere with lovely South American music playing and I was quickly greeted and sat at my table. From that point forward everything was terrible. It took 33 Minutes for them to come to my table and ask what my drink order was. The place was busy but not that busy and there was probably six servers in all working. It doesn’t take 33 minutes to ask or greet someone once they’re seated. Of course by then I had looked over the menu a dozen times so I also ordered my food. I ordered the macho burrito. When the burrito came it was cold, there’s way too much going on inside this burrito. I ordered it with beef and it had extremely dry, chopped up meat. Not the kind you would expect on some Carne Asada tacos either. This was like petrified, crack your teeth open old, should’ve thrown it away a week ago, meat. It was horrible. I was also never offered a drink refill, no salsa and my table was never visited again. Then the check came. $10.99 for the burrito plus a soda which is $3 I think. How did it come to be $21.49? I don’t know, maybe I can’t do math. I didn’t even bother, I just paid it, added a four dollar tip and got the heck out of there. I thought I would give this a try over my usual favorite Mexican place, torero‘s. Big mistake. Dry old poorly prepared food, took 1:10 to have LUNCH, no service whatsoever. I used to be a chef, I worked my way through school as one. It’s pretty hard to mess up Mexican food. It’s like breakfast. You have to go out of your way to mess it up. Especially a simple burrito. There’s no excuse. I do not recommend this place and I will...
Read moreI recently visited Las Marias and was very disappointed with my experience. I had high hopes based on the reviews, but unfortunately, the service fell far short of expectations.
When I arrived, the restaurant was moderately busy, but I didn’t think it would be an issue. However, after placing my order, I ended up waiting over an hour for someone to take our order. During this time, there was little to no communication from the staff about the delay, which only added to the frustration.
After waiting for such a long time, I ultimately decided to leave because the food was taking too long to prepare. To make matters worse, everything was overpriced. I was charged $10 for a Coke and a water, which is outrageous.
Overall, I understand that sometimes restaurants can get busy, but the lack of communication and the extended wait time without any explanation or apology was unacceptable. I hope that Las Marias can address these issues and improve their service for...
