It was okay but definitely not great. We had a reservation for 9 people. Throughout the night, there were just little things that happened that added up. The hostess told us she didn't realize how big our party was (we had a reservation so it should've been obvious) and that they'd have to clean off another table for us (we specifically asked for a hibachi table). She had us stand off to the side. It took almost ten minutes for someone to come back to us. Then we were seated, and our drink and appetizer orders were taken. I ordered a sushi roll. We were each given a plastic bag with fork, knife, spoon, and a napkin. I asked for chopsticks and some more napkins, and had to ask several times and they were still not brought over. Also, the table quickly became crowded because nobody was coming over to grab empty plates and bowls. Our chef arrives to the table and sees that I don't have chopsticks, so he got some for me. He also bussed the table himself before he started cooking. He also got some more napkins. He was the best part of the night, by far. Unfortunately, the gentleman who took our orders wrote a couple of them down wrong, so my mother (whose birthday we were celebrating) and my niece didn't get everything they ordered. It was...
Read moreIt's great if you sit at a table where they cook in front of you. Don't order hibachi at the bar, at the shushi bar, or to go. The food cooked in the back is sub par. The rice taste like it's sitting around. And the people they have doing to go are terrible. No, really terrible. On multiple occasions I've come to pick up my food only to be told it wasn't ready yet and would be out soon. 15-20 minutes later they hand be a bag that's been sitting on the counter the whole time. And make sure you check your food. They can't be bothered to make sure it's all there. Even when you ask to make sure. I watched the employee load up MOST of my food. I asked if it was all there. I was assured it was. I then informed them my soup wasn't in there. They were shocked. It's on the receipt. And you will be asked to pay twice. When you tell them you're here to pick up food, then when they finally hand you your food. Again when you sit at a habachi table, this place is great. The bartenders and wait staff are great. The management, food from the back, and to go ordering could...
Read moreGreat show and excellent food. However I took away one star to leave them with a 4 star review due to one issue we had with our most recent visit. They tend to get busy really quickly when they open at noon on Saturdays. So plan to arrive when the doors open to get seated. We were seated for a "dinner and show". Another family was then seated with us. That had 7 at our table which left us comfortable with enough room for just one more person, however the hostess came to our table and told us to slide closer together so she could fit 2 more people. If we had done so, we would have been squished together and elbow to elbow. Making eating more restrictive and uncomfortable. We refused to move. I know it sounds petty. But if we are going to pay that much for food and enjoy it, we deserve the elbow room to eat without worry of elbowing a stranger. Adding 2 more would not had been an issue if everyone at the table were of small stature but that was not the case. Otherwise, it was my first time eating at Kanki and it was great and...
