Visited this place yesterday and can honestly say I will probably not be back. The customer service was admirable but the young man that was working out front was unknowledgeable about the menu, prices, and contents of some of the items (particularly rather the icing was whipped, buttercream, homemade, etc.) There was a very small selection, maybe 4 different cupcakes (One with a cherry, one with a cinnamon roll, one that had an Oreo on top which they had a chocolate and vanilla flavor, and one single red velvet), and 5 or 6 flavors of sliced cakes. Though the selection was not plentiful, it wasn't the worst part.
The most notable part of this experience, and the number one reason why I will not be back, is that they are EXPENSIVE. I don't have a problem spending money, especially when it comes to a black-owned business but this experience was NOT worth the expense. $5 for a regular, inconsistently sized cupcake. Meaning that the cupcake is the size of one you would bake at home in a regular pan and, just like at home, they are not all the same size. Some of them are smaller than the others but they are all the same price. Upon asking the person serving us what was the difference between the standard and the specialty cupcakes as listed, he went and got someone out of the back who came up front to let us know that they no longer make standard cupcakes, they are all specialty, and they are all the same price, $5. The sliced cake is about $9 per slice, and they had one available choice for a cold dessert which was banana pudding and that was $6 per cup.
Let me tell you, the banana pudding was the absolute worst part of the experience. Not only were there NO bananas in the banana pudding, but the pudding also was not giving pudding. It was giving store-bought whipped cream as it had a very distinct texture and aftertaste. It was a decent serving, but definitely was not what I was expecting and the flavor was not there at all. Literally just tasted like whipped cream and nilla wafers. I didn't finish it... after a couple scoops it was apparent that it did not taste anything like banana pudding and had a very bad aftertaste. As far as the cakes, we ended up getting the cupcake with the cinnamon roll on it, it was subpar to say the least. Very dry and just tasted like regular ol store-bought cake mix, the same for the sliced cake. We went with cookies and cream... it was very thick and had plenty of icing, it was a bit more moist than the cupcake but still tasted store-bought. And there's NOTHING wrong with store-bought but for the price it could at least be fresh. There are also plenty things you can add to box mix to make it better yet the selections tasted very generic. Spent $20 on (1) cupcake, (1) slice of cake, and (1) banana pudding. I am NOT listening to TikTok anymore 🤦🏾♀️
