I've been to this place twice and it got bonus points right away for having spicy carrots. You find these in all the taco shops in Southern California. I saw the special was a chicken burrito and decided to try that. After talking with the guys that worked there I realized they were from San Diego. I asked if they made a California burrito and they said "yeah but here we call it a Carolina Burrito." I almost ordered one of those to go. I got one the second time I visited and the only thing missing was enchilada sauce on the inside. I will have to make sure I ask for that. The meat wasn't as seasoned as it is back home but everything else was very similar. It's a small thing but I really love the tortillas. They are slightly fried and have a certain smell to them. It reminds me of late nights after clubbing with friends in taco shops. The people that work there are very friendly and I think if you talked to them they'd make you whatever you want. I didn't look at the menu much but I'm going to see if they have rolled tacos also called taquitos. I saw they have another So Cal fave the Carne Asada fries. That's an artery clogging specialty. This place is going to be a weekly haunt and I highly recommend it. It's a change from the cookie cutter tex-mex that is all over the triangle. I hope these places expand. Maybe eventually they'll be open 24hrs just like in SD.
Just thought I'd clarify what a Carolina Burrito is
A burrito filled with - Carne asada Pico De Gallo French fries or crunch potatoes Cheese *In San Diego they also include Enchilada Sauces, you can also order them "wet" which means the enchilada sauce is poured on top of the burrito to.
The Carne Asada burritos here aren't bad but don't expect the same kind of seasoned meat you would fine in San Diego.
The other reviews don't lie the burritos are huge here. Or maybe what size they should be. If you're a native of San Diego or Southern California check...
Read moreSince someone responded… I actually paid for that extra cup so I can decide what I want to put in the cup that I paid for. I also paid almost $6 for a fruit drink. So yes I did get a to go cup that I paid for. This doesn’t excuse the way you acted and treated a loyal customer who always comes in there to tip and spend money. Good luck
There was a problem when I came here and asked for juice with no ice. When I asked for a refund the lady told me that I couldn’t get a refund. I just wanted the drink exactly how I like it when I go to other restaurants it’s never a problem when I ask for no ice. She then tells me to never come back because she thought I was trying to get extra juice when all I wanted was no ice in my drink. I always come here and it was never a problem until today. I actually love lose Coates but I do not appreciate how I was treated today as a paying loyal customer. Please don’t go here their customer service is degrading and trash. The manager or employee always told me that I was cheap and shouldn’t be cheap when coming into their...
Read moreWould be 0 stars 8f available. Orderd 2 things of fajitas, asked for extra tortillas and no vegetables. Called the restaurant immediately after placing the order to make sure they got my instructions. They repeated exactly what I put. Everything fine. Received my order in an acceptable if not an above average time. When looking over my order, not only did I not receive extra tortillas......I received no tortillas. 8m from Texas, maybe I missed something, how do you eat fajitas with no tortillas. Called the delivery service, that said to call the restaurant. The restaurant said there is nothing they can do. They can't ref8nd my money, which I didn't ask for, and that they couldn't bring me what I ordered. I understand covid has been rough for a lot of people, especially restaurants, but we as consumers, if we choose to order from home, are forced to pay extra; ie tip, delivery fee etc, all on the "hope" that they get the order right. This is getting ridiculous. Take pride, do your job, and if you screw up........fox...
