I decided to go to Mami Nora’s for lunch today like I have a dozen times throughout the last couple years. I ordered the quarter white with French fries and soup to go, my go to order. When I got home and opened the chicken breast what I found was a under cooked bloody chicken breast and I was very surprised, never had any issues in the past. I decided to return to the restaurant so I could inform them and ask for a refund, but the response I received was anything but appropriate and professional. The supposed manager spoke with the cooks in the back and they insinuated that the piece of chicken I returned wasn’t the chicken they sold me with the quarter white meal. Up until that point I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a mistake and stuff happens, no worries. I asked the manager if I was at fault here and she couldn’t give me a yes or no answer and this is when I became frustrated. No where in my thought process would I ever try to conceive returning a piece of bloody chicken to an establishment I visit fairly often. If I’m being honest, I don’t even know how to cook an entire chicken and cut it into four pieces. I’m very disappointed with what happened today and I don’t know if I ever will be able to justify returning to Mami Nora’s, not because of the food but because of the insinuation that I would return a different quarter chicken than the one I received so I could get my whopping $8 back. Every establishment has bad days and this one definitely was one for them and serving undercooked bloody chicken is unacceptable. Consider one of the other Peruvian chicken establishments in the area when deciding which one you’d...
Read moreI'm very disappointed: This place used to be so much better before Covid: The food, the rotisserie smells, the seating area, the atmosphere, ... First time I go back after Covid, and unfortunately it seems to have changed for the worse: Much "colder", very impersonal overall vibe. No fountain drinks (only bottled drinks...), you have to ask for condiments (ketchup, sauces, etc), silverware, and (tiny) water cups (the only drink available self serve...). As for the food, the chicken is (very) dry, especially for rotisserie (and I had the dark meat...). The sides are a hit or miss: For example, the rice is very dry but the fries are very good, and this applies to other sides. The green sauce is delicious. The only thing that is still really good is the Staff: Very friendly and helpful.
It really pains me to leave such a review as this used to be a great, tasty place which had personality, and which I really liked. It has unfortunately definitely changed...
Read moreMami Nora’s used to be fantastic; the original Peruvian chicken restaurant with attentive staff, clean facilities, and pleasant experiences all around. The general tenor began to change about a year ago. I heard this is attributable to new managers/owners, but can not verify. However, the decline has surely continued. I have gone back a few times with the hope of the restaurant getting its act together and returning to how things were. That has not happened. I went with a group of guys last night. The tables were dirty, staff and attentive, and the floors sticky. One of the staff sat down at an empty table, put her head down and slept without assisting any customers. It was very uncomfortable and generally reflective of where the restaurant is… I will not be back. I strongly recommend other, Peruvian chicken restaurants that have definitely replaced this one as the preeminent option (Viva Chicken,...
