First and last time ordering from here.
As soon as I walked in, I was hit with a disgusting sewer/bathroom smell, the kind that makes you want to walk right back out. You expect the aroma of food in a restaurant, not the stench of poor plumbing.
Then there’s the heavy door, a struggle to open on the way in and on the way out. That’s a serious safety hazard. If there were an emergency, a child or elderly person wouldn’t stand a chance getting out quickly.
Now the food, I paid over $16 per plate, and both were basically piles of soba noodles with barely any chicken or steak. What little meat was there looked sad. Definitely not worth the price.
And then the worst part, a black hair in my food. Halfway through eating at home, there it was, plain as day. The same color and length as the cashier, who was working with her hair down and no hair net. That’s just unacceptable.
And to top it all off? A tip jar by the register. For what? Sewer smell, overpriced noodles, and hair in my food? No thanks.
If this is how they treat first-time customers, I can’t imagine how bad it gets from here. I...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience at NC Japan Express. The food I ordered was not only overcooked but also incredibly bland. My attempt to address this issue by requesting a refund was met with utmost disrespect from Cary. This shocking display of unprofessionalism was aggravated by remarks about my age and the fact that I was with my mother. Instead of handling the situation with sensitivity, she insinuated that my mother hadn't raised me well and labeled me as "too mouthy." Despite our valid concerns, Cary refused to provide a refund and insisted on remaking the food. We tried to explain that this was essentially the same, since she would be throwing away the food we had brought back. This entire experience left a sour taste in my mouth, not only due to the unappetizing food but also because of the appalling...
Read moreWhat a surprising find! The person taking our order at the counter was personable and had a really great smile. We ordered soba noodles with steak and shrimp. The servings are huge, so my wife and I split the order. Everything was fresh and it was cooked perfectly, but the best part was their white sauce. WOW, just heaven! We are not fountain drink people so just had the cold water from the machine and finished up for under $15 (before tip). I think that they do more carry out than eat-in as several Uber and grub-hut drivers picked up while we were there. We felt comfortable in our booth without feeling like everyone was listening to our conversations. We will definitely be back! Great meal for a night that we didn't feel...
